Just returned home after 8 days stay at Kilbrannan & am suffering withdrawal symptoms. Everything was 1st class as usual, stayed in room 1 which has plenty of room & a comfortable bed & was spotless. Garys breakfasts are second to none & really set you up for the day, could eat a Kilbrannan special as I write this.lol.
Gary, Julie & Charlie are outstanding hosts & really deserve all the awards they have managed to achieve in the short time they have been running Kilbrannan. A warm welcome is assured & if you are looking for the best B & B in Gt.Yarmouth look no further.

If you're looking for an overnight stay as we were, this is just right. The rooms are well equipped, comfortable and very clean. The welcome is first class and there's a willingness to look after you and see how your stay can be enhanced. Excellent breakfast, too.

Thank you so much for your review,
It was a pleasure to meet you both for the first time and we hope to meet you the next time one of your horses race again.
Great customer service is something that all accommodation providers should deliver, even down to recommending restaurants and booking a table for guests as we did for you.

Thanks again

Warmest regards

Have just returned from another stay at the Kilbrannon. Gary and Julie made us very welcome and as per usual nothing was to much trouble. The room was very comfy and had everything including hair dryer, cotton wool buds and even fruit. Gary's breakfast has won awards and if you stay there you will discover why, again anything you require they will provide, my husband had an omelette one morning and said it was delicious. The Kilbrannon is run with care and lots of consideration for the visitors that stay there. We came away feeling very relaxed and happy. We hope to visit again in the near future.

Staying at Kilbrannan and enjoying the wonderful hospitality of Gary and Julie really has been one of the highlights of our trip here from Brisbane, Australia. The location is perfect and the room (family room) was very comfortable and tastefully decorated with some lovely little touches adding to it's character and personality. It's obvious to see that Gary and Julie have dedicated a lot of time and energy in to ensuring every guest enjoys their stay in total comfort. Nothing was too difficult for them and they were always willing to help out in every way. I hope this review will encourage other visitors from the UK and overseas to experience the kindness and hospitality Kilbrannan's hosts offer, it really was excellent all round. Kevin, Cathy and Lachlan.

Room Tip: Don't look any further for the best B&B in Great Yarmouth, this is it!

It gives us great pleasure to welcome overseas guests to Kilbrannan. Great Yarmouth has a lot to offer all visitors and is a fine example of a British Seaside Town.
You were a lovely family to meet and we feel priveledged to have had the honour of showing you our hospitality. We work very hard to run our Guest House the way we do and its nice to receive feedback.
Thank you

We stayed Easter half-term for 4 nights and discovered yet another great place to stay, thanks to Trip Advisor.

My one abiding requirement of anywhere I stay is cleanliness first. I can put up with bad or average food, as I have a choice as to whether I eat it, but there's no avoiding dirt. Thankfully, there are no such worries on either count with the Kilbrannan.

On arrival, we were made to feel very welcome and given comprehensive information one should get as a matter of course when booking in anywhere but, sadly, is often neglected.

Whilst we unloaded the car on the double yellows outside, 5 yards away there is plentiful on-road parking that is currently free to those displaying the appropriate residents' pass from the guest house.

I won't labour details about the room as I've posted plenty of photos in their unadulterated glory for all to see. Suffice it to say, it was comfortable, clean, had fresh fruit every day, tea, coffee and hot chocolate making facilities. Oh, as a nice touch, a mini fridge, too.

An essential in any place to stay these days is *free* wi-fi (big corporates need to take heed here) and, apart from the first night when it was switched off late on, this was subsequently available when needed.

I will make the same minor point that I've made in my previous reviews: not everyone is an early riser or feels like eating as soon as they get up; so breakfast being available until 9 am is always going to be a bone of contention with me.

In terms of the breakfast's quality on the (unfortunately) sole occasion I made it down, it has to be said it was excellent. There was plenty of choice, including homemade muesli, three juices (not from concentrate, apparently), kippers, eggs & soldiers, and - of course - the omnipresent full English. I opted for the latter with an accompanying cafetiere of freshly brewed coffee and was not disappointed. The locally sourced sausage is worth a mention in its own right, as are the hunks of 'proper' bread for the toast and conserves.

The litmus test is whether I'd go back and I'd have no hesitation, or in recommending it to anyone. You'd really be hard pushed to find a more central, friendly and decent place to stay.

Room Tip: Room 2 is good as it has the separate lounge area with an extra TV.

Thank you for your review.
We would agree with you on the cleanliness. It is very important to maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene which is why we work so hard at achieving it for our guests.
Hospitality is also very important and the extra touches we provide just add to your experience whilst staying with us, such as the fridges in each room. We are glad you enjoyed the space with the attached lounge. It is unusual for a Guest House to have the level of comfort that we do as most others will have more rooms which are smaller.
Breakfast is cooked freshly using only quality, local and home made ingredients and yes, our fruit juices are not cheap, nasty concentrated ones!!
To maintain Kilbrannan the way we do with the level of cleanliness etc requires a great deal of our time and energy as we don't have staff and as a result, to offer breakfast after 09:00 would lead to us not having enough time to do everything else.

Thanks again, it was a pleasure to meet you and your son and we hope to see you again some time

This was our first stay at the Kilbrannon. We chose this B & B because of the good reviews and we were certainly not disappointed. The Smiths are such a friendly and relaxed family who made us feel comfortable and welcome from start to finish. The room was immaculate and relaxing with an array of homely touches; fresh fruit, toiletries, chocolates, water, tea, coffee, hot choc etc. The bed was comfy and warm, Freeview TV, a huge choice of books and DVDs and a fabulous breakfast - certainly a home from home. All this and only a few minutes walk from town and the sea front. If you plan to stay in Great Yarmouth I would challenge anyone to find a better place. Thank you Gary, Julie and Charlie for your hard work and hospitality.

We have stayed at the Kilbrannan on numerous occasions and we have just returned from a four day break. When we arrived we were met by Julie and a cup of tea - very much appreciated. We were immediately given a parking permit and Gary later moved his car so we could park off road. He then took our case to our room, which as usual, was very comfortable and spotless, with refreshments, fresh fruit and flowers. Breakfast is everything you could ask for and more, complete with Gary's delicious homemade bread. Watch out, though, a slice is like half a loaf. You should never leave the table hungry. We now feel like we have another family in Yarmouth in Julie, Gary and Charlie, and look forward to visiting them again later in the year.

It's a pleasure to look after you and to make sure you don't leave us hungry even if it means using tinned tomatoes.
