Maybe I am missing something with all the positive reviews.

I found it very tatty. Poor quality models in need of a face lift.

Overpriced for what there is.

The penny arcade is fun though.

You pay your price and get the great experience of a well kept and well presented village to explore. It keeps the kids amazed for about an hour. There are buttons to press and sounds to generate. There is no sign of it being run down - I last came over 30 years ago! So you finish the tour and the kids eyeball the crazy golf - I go for clubs and balls - FREE! Included in the price - another hour of fun! You then leave through an amazing museum of penny arcade machines from the victorian era and then on to an equally amazing 1980's style 2p collection and they all work! £1 lasts ages! especially when you win - and you will. So eventually you leave and suddenly you are presented with about 20 kids mini rides like the mini wheel or a classic car. Now if you leave this place you will find these rides for £1 or £2 but in the confines of this amazing place, they are 20p or 50p so you can cash in your winnings and ride them all! You can enjoy some cake if you want whilst the kids play in the tea room. Just when you think it's all over, get your hand stamped and return after dark at no cost to see the illuminations! Allow a full afternoon to enjoy this place and then return when its dark. Also, the arcade and mini rides are accessible anytime so you can come everyday on your way past and have bargain fun!

Intriguing for children and fascinating for adults. So much going on and well modelled. Good value for money. Oh! And take your camera with you!

Was a lovely morning out. A very well cared for model village. Good attention to detail. The trains going around was fab. I loved the mini fun fair. The interacting buttons was good.
