“great location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2013

Just got back from a few days in Great Yarmouth where we stayed at the Burlington Palm Court hotel. Its still very dated, we last stayed there about 9 years ago and it hasn't changed that much. The staff were very helpful, the two rooms we booked were clean but very dark and very warm. The breakfast was good but on our last day the dining room was very, very busy. We had almost finished our breakfast when the couple who were sitting behind my husband arrived. My husband had to move to an empty table behind me so he could finish his coffee and the man could sit down at his table, the tables were too close together. Also didnt get much sleep because of a pigeon who started cooing about 3.30 every morning!

Room Tip: avoid rooms 103 and 104 if you dont like pigeons

We have just spent a 4 night stay at the Burlington Palm Great Yarmouth and wondered if we had stayed at the same hotel as some of the negative comments from previous reviews. We found this hotel to be friendly, clean, excellent breakfast and evening meal followed by good D J,s who played music for all ages. Plenty to dance to. Can,t comment on the pool as we did not use.Would stay here again.

We stayed with a large party also for the HMS Warrior Reunion. The staff were welcoming from the start and we felt at home from the time that we arrived. We felt comfortable everywhere in the hotel and the food was excellent. For a 3 star hotel, the food is worth more than that. The portions were large and the quality was amazing. One of the best hotels for food that we've ever stayed in - if not the best in this country.
The bed linen was spotless and the bed lovely and comfortable. The swimming pool was a bonus for my brother, his partner and their children - a big hit!!!
The DJ on Sat night was very good. He kept the group lively and happy with his banter and he obviously loves his job. Brilliant night!
If I ever go back to Great Yarmouth I would definitely stay at the hotel.

Room Tip: I think that rooms at the front of the hotel may be quieter. A pigeon nesting at the back where we...

We visited this excellent hotel in May 2013 for my fathers HMS Warrior Naval Reunion, and found it to be one of the best hotels all round that I've stayed in. Nicely situated on the front and close to all the facilities in the town. Breakfast was a pure delight, the cold selections were laid out with an excellent choice. The hot breakfasts were split into Full English, Fish selections (Bloaters, Kippers or Smoked Haddock) and there was also an Egg selection. If you wanted to eat in for lunch there was a great all round menu. The evening menu was also good with meat fish or vegetarian options. If you're eating hot food you want hot plates you wont be disappointed, the food is hot and stays hot. Its straight to your table as the Head Waiter has his finger on the button. Staff are not allocated a table to serve, they take the orders from your table and as each dinner is plated its dispatched to your table guaranteeing that its piping hot on delivery. As far as I could see, nobody was left waiting for their meal any longer than necessary. Not only were they smart, polite and always smiling, there seemed to be plenty off them. As for the kitchen staff, well the food did the talking and I defy anyone to say that it wasn't FIRST CLASS. The Bar Staff too, were pleasant and amicable. The cleaners, a damn good job as I was back after breakfast each morning and my room was already spotless and ready for accommodation. The rooms (Room 4) are clean, pleasantly decorated and have adequate facilities with good selection of warm drinks refilled each morning and comfortable clean beds. Cannot pass comment on the pool as I never went in but it looked inviting and the kids appeared to be loving it, you could smell the chlorine when the door was open so it was obviously looked after and it was clean. A three night stay and we had two nights of entertainment, though one of the nights entertainment was laid on specially for our crowd. The hotel is a family concern, the owner or his wife or the son and his wife are usually to found doing something, they are hands on and family photographs are a nice touch in the hotel lobby. All in all, very satisfied and I certainly will be back.

My mother and I stayed for 3 nights in May 2013 as part of a group booking for a naval reunion. Staff were so friendly and could not do enough to help. I asked to swap rooms to avoid having to use stairs and staff were happy to oblige. The next morning I happened to catch sight of room 110 which has obviously been refurbished very recently and asked to move again. We paid an upgrade fee but it was so worth it for the wet room power shower, jacuzzi bath, huge bed and fantastic views. Really made us feel special. We were on a dinner, bed and breakfast rate and I have to say that the food was great each night. Pool looked lovely and clean although we did not have time to use it. Would definitely come back as we have family nearby.

Room Tip: Ask for room 110 or 111 for luxury....

Was quite impressed by the hotel. This was a quick break for me and my husband between my bouts of chemotherapy so we asked for the nicest room they could provide as we would be spending a lot of time in there and comfort was top of the list. The room we were allocated was 111 and we were assured it was the best in the hotel - and it probably was. Very nice, large room with bay windows. A six ft bed with not a zip in sight. The room had obviously very recently been refurbished - very tasteful contemporary decor. Fabulous bathroom with large jacuzzie and separate walk in power shower. Beautiful view straight out to sea. All very nice. The hotel was entertaining a couple of holiday groups while we were there so it seemed quite full. Quite quiet though nevertheless. All appeared to be clean and tidy - downstairs was very classically decorated. Staff were very pleasant and helpful when asked about hotel facilities and for local information. The indoor pool looked impressive. Plenty of parking. Met one of the owners and and had long conversation regarding the virtues or not of the windfarm visible from the hotel. All in all quite a pleasant stay. We heard the restaurant food was excellent but we only partook of breakfast which was exceptionally delicious. Service was fast and professional too, though on one morning I don't think we were spotted entering the small dining area separate from the main one which was in use by the coach party, so had to attract someone's attention. We paid quite a bit more for room 111 than we would usually but think it was worth it. Would recommend.

Room Tip: If you want super - then as for room 111 - very large and sunny, looks out to see
