“A Trip Back in Time to the era of real music”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

The Revival Sandwich bar is situated at the bottom of the Victoria Arcade in Great Yarmouth.

Inside the walls are adorned with historical Rock and Roll stars including the Beatles, Chuck Berry, Gerry Marsden, Roy Orbison and the like. There is always a pleasant selection of music from the 1950's and 1960's playing.

Food here is very good, and a far cry from the typical Greasy Spoon - the proprietors are only too conscious of health issues associated with fatty food, so meals are freshly cooked and appetising. Vegetarian options are available.

The modest menu offers a fair range of basic breakfasts and snack items, and changes can be made to existing offerings.

Definitely worth a visit even if only to listen to real music.

“Very friendly Rock and Roll cafe”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

We have been to this cafe a few times, very friendly staff and very clean cafe. The lasagne is one of the best I have tasted and their breakfast is lovely and not greasy as some places are. Everything is cooked when ordered so you may have to wait a little while but at least you know it is fresh. Very good value for money as the prices are very good. Love to hear the music they play. Only thing I would say against the place is the amount of posters they have on all the windows, you cant really see into the cafe when you walk past which is a shame because it is a pretty place full of Rock and Roll photos.

“Absolutely Dreadful”
Reviewed 31 July 2013

This cafe looks nice on the outside with a 50s rock and roll theme, but stepping inside is a completely different story.

I called in for lunch with my partner before a show and ordered a baguette. At least I tried to; literally half the menu was out of stock. In the end the cook showed me what they did have: some very cheap looking pre-mixed chicken and mayo in a plastic packet. Against our better judgement we decided to stay instead of looking elsewhere and ordered one of the few things they actually had- a jacket potato and a tuna panini.

25 minutes later and our order still hadn't shown up. I asked at the counter and they hadn't even started making it! It's not as if they were rushed either; there were three members of staff looking after a tiny cafe of 8 tables. The staff weren't the least bit concerned or apologetic about the wait, saying they'd cook our order 'in 10 minutes'. We stood up and walked out.

Don't bother at all with this place. Go to the Subway just around the corner where the food is cheaper and you get served in 2 minutes flat. You also won't have to deal with the utterly dreadful service that this cafe has!

“Mouldy”
Reviewed 2 September 2012

Cheerful looking & clean. Kids ordered sponge pud & a knickerbocker glory. Me & hubby ordered toasted teacake & tea combo price. Teacakes arrived, smelling lovely . We buttered & as I picked up to take a bite noticed something.... Underneath was mouldy, as was hubby's! Not a bit, a lot. I discreetly called male waiter over & he said 'oh' & took them away. Female appeared with kids order & said 'very sorry about the teacakes' & left. We waited until kids had finished & no further teacakes appeared, or an offer of anything else. As we approached cashier to pay, male waiter muttered to her not to charge us for teacakes. That was it. Customer services zero for a situation that could easily have been resolved.
