“Would definitely recommend dining at this 4 star Hotel”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

I have recently visited this hotel for food only as it is quite local to where I live. Sunday lunch and dinner in Café lunch. Dinner was to celebrate my birthday. Each time the food was really excellent. The Executive Chef's motto, don't fuss with the food, let the quality shine through, is certainly very true. The service is just as it should be. The customer is made to feel very welcome; it certainly also was on my birthday. Full afternoon tea can be taken in the terrace restaurant, and on a fine day, there are lovely sea views as this restaurant is in an elevated position. It is also terrific value which includes two types of sandwiches (one is asked if the choice is acceptable at time of ordering), a selection of miniature cakes, pastries, etc and a large scone (their own very delicious and unique recipe) with cream and jam. Tea or coffee are also included. All for a very reasonable £9.50! Very nicely presented as one would expect from an hotel of 4 star rating. The service again is just perfect. It is certainly a lovely, welcoming experience to eat at this hotel, and I would add they certainly made my birthday a truly lovely day.

Room Tip: I have not booked a room as I am not local, but I should think those with a sea view are lovely.

We have just returned from a 5 night stay at this hotel.

We had 2 king size bedded single rooms with side view to the sea. They were quiet and clean but the furnishings a bit old fashioned and tired. My room had 3 different seats all covered with different fabrics which just looked a bit sad to me.

The beds were so large that they took up most of the room but they were lovely and comfortable and made for a good night's sleep.

The guest supplies - in the bathroom and the teas/coffees/shortbreads in the rooms were all of a high standard and in plentiful supply.

The highlights of this hotel, without a doubt are the wonderful staff who were all very service orientated and most obliging and the quality of the food. The breakfasts which are served at the table are amongst the best i have had at an hotel and the egg benedict was absolutely superb!

We did have a dinner in the Terrace one evening but, unfortunately there was a table of very loud revellers at the next table who thought it cool to make sure everyone within 200 metres would be able to hear every word they said. It was not pleasant and ruined what would have been a delicious meal. Obviously this is not the hotel's fault that such people get into the place but it really put a damper on the evening.

All in all we had a great time at this hotel and if we were in Great Yarmouth again would probably make this our hotel of choice.

Room Tip: Sea view or side sea view rooms are great

Our group had a great break here. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the service in the bar and restaurant was outstanding. The food was excellent and plentiful, even on our restricted menu choice, and everyone was very happy. Our room was quite small, with not a huge amount of space to unpack a lot of things, but it was kept beautifully clean. The bathroom was fine, with everything working well. We had a recently-modernised room with air-conditioning, which worked well on hot nights and was very quiet. Breakfasts were very good, with nothing self-service but everything you wanted served accurately and quickly by charming staff. Definitely a great place to stay in Great Yarmouth

My family recently visited Great Yarmouth on a day trip. There were 10 adults and 6 children. We chose to eat at the Imperial Hotel because the staff were very accomodating to our large group, very friendly, very professional and the food was EXCELLENT :-) We will always choose this hotel/restaurant in the future.....brilliant lunch.

A very nice hotel, with very welcoming staff. All seemed very courteous and efficient. The restaurant is exceptional again with very quiet and efficient staff, food was first rate and was served quickly and politely.

The bedroom was cosy but big enough for us and was very tastefully decorated to a high standard. The bed was very comfy, the room was also exceptionally clean and tidy.

Room Tip: Go for sea views and the hotel has off road parking.

Just visited The Terrace at the Imperial Hotel for lunch and couldn't have found a nicer place on a sunny day to while away a couple of hours. Lovely sea view from our table by the window and good selection on the menu, from sandwiches to steak. We three opted for cheese souflee, pea, bean and asparagus taglatelli and spiced chicken with polenta followed by chocolate fondant, strawberry sextet and apple and calvados pudding....Delicious... All nicely presented, very tasty and well worth a visit.

just returned from a 2 day break at this hotel, everything about this hotel is great
The sea view room we had was recently decorated and could not have been better everything you need in a room was there. Our first night we booked a meal in The terrace on the front of the hotel which was really good and the staff could not be more help full and on the plus side they also have a Gluton free menu which meant that my wife had a lovely meal without having to worry about what she was eating.
So if your thinking of a stay in Great Yarmouth 1st stop is to contact this hotel
