Right on the sea-front, out of earshot from central promenade, and two minutes walk to the Britannia Pier. Poised with quiet understatement, located on the corner of the north promenade near to the 'Waterways' and the dunes, it leads the way to the 'higher-end' hotels in Great Yarmouth, which is always a good omen.
Firstly the parking. It's free, so a massive bonus of no hidden charge. Very helpful reception staff, providing iron and stand on request. Were allocated a top floor room (39), which was compact, a little too compact for larger or taller couples, so if you fall into one of those two categories, request a different room. We were only there to sleep and wash, so personally it wasn't a major deal, if only at times amusing. We had plans to eat out everyday, so cannot comment on breakfasts, which as past visitors have stated, comes as a rather sneaky and not exactly cheap extra. Advice on this is one word - 'Wetherspoons'. If you fancy the walk, the pub in town opposite the bus station does a super breakfast for half the cost of the 'Marine', and that is the reason it doesn't achieve a '5' from this review, and effectively cancels out the benefit of the parking situation.
Apart from the disappointment of the unnecessary extra, it is fair to say we shall have no hesitation in returning to this hotel, or recommending it to others.
