“Lazzarella highly recommended”
Reviewed 21 May 2012

We had been here several years ago and despite a change of ownership decided to give it a try.
I cannot remember the first meal I ate there but I will remember the last , in a word excellent . Good service, food, menu and value for money. There are not a lot of good restaurants in Yarmouth so we cannot recommend this one to highly.

“Lazzarella - NOW " THE COURTYARD".”
Reviewed 13 May 2012

My wife and I were regular visitors to Lazzarella's and were sad when told Tony would be leaving at the end of 2011. However ..... we decided to visit the restaurant again, which is now called The Courtyard. This is a very just name, for there is a small entrance/courtyard for Al Fresco dining if and when the weather permits. All previous reviews complement the building which seats no more than 20 persons, but the new owner seems to have gained more space, by allowing more tables of two persons. The ambience is serene, with an eclectic collection of pictures on the brick walls. The menu still has many Pasta and Pizza dishes, but now there are Specials which comprise Salmon and Duck for example. Cromer Crab Fishcakes for £4.95 is a bargain and so is Crepe filled with asparagus, spinach and cheese for £5.00 ! All desserts are £4.50 and include a lovely Homemade Sticky Chocolate Brownie with soured cream. Before the change in ownership the wine was either red or white in carafes, but now there is a very interesting selection with £14.95 the top price for some enjoyable examples. If in Great Yarmouth I strongly recommend a visit. There are no more than three top quality restaurants in the Town, with many very ordinary nasty places that have menus so long, it is clear the food cannot be fresh. The Courtyard is definitely worth a visit if you like something a little bit special and different. I strongly recommend it.
