A great insight into the development of a home over a huge period of time from the Elizabethan Age. Very informative NT staff member gave us a great insight into the early ownership of the house and the different rooms in the house gave us some very interesting facts and information.

Another facinating museum in Great Yarmouths collection. Anybody who thinks Yarmouth is just sand, sea and amusements needs to visit the South Quay area and the other heritage sites nearby.

From Tudor to Victorian times, the history of this house is depicted in lots of interesting exhibits and displays. My daughter loved the dressing up items and the toy room. Great museum for children - check website as they do special event days. Spent over an hour here, well worth a visit.

Another gem along the South quay! Only £3.90 per adult. As we arrived I was very impressed to see a school party had then visited the museum. Audio guides are a great way of informing you of everything in each room as you come into it, and more besides, but |I would still like a paper guide to keep to take home with me which aren't available here. Walking round you are told of the history of the house, who lived in it and what went on it either by the audio guide or very detailed leaflets and several hands on exhibits which are great if you are taking children with you as it holds their interest and attention and helps them learn at the same time. I was very interested in the story being told in the bedroom regarding the lady of the house and her birthing story as my daughter is a midwife but I don't know that everyone would be so interested! An hour well spent on a cold wet day.
