“Standards have dropped...”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

We used to enjoy this pub but lately the standards have slipped. The outdoor seating area is fine but not so good for eating as it can get a bit rowdy in the evening. When we were there last a couple sat near us trying to eat their meal and were surrounded by a very loud crowd. It couldn't have been very pleasant for them and we certainly felt uncomfortable and left shortly afterwards. We noticed that the place has extended the premises, it may be a good idea to have a dedicated area outdoors just for those wanting to eat. The staff aren't too bad but a couple can get a bit niggly and curt. Its a shame as we can see that the place has grown over the years and used to be a great place to go, but as its got bigger the standards have most definitely dropped.

“Good food and plenty of it”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

lovely food, visited twice during my holiday in Great Yarmouth. Staff very polite and friendly and food was of a good standard and reasonably priced. I found the place to be clean and our plates were taken away in a reasonable time after finishing our meal

“Agree with previous review on dirty tables”
Reviewed 21 July 2014

I have visited this pub on many occasions during the last 6 week and noticed that most of the vacant tables where dirty and full of glasses etc. staff stand in groups and you feel like an intruder if you want serving .
The food is nice but you have to chase up your second course as they forget that you have ordered and pre paid.
When you order and pay you do not get a receipt to prove what you have ordered either unless you demand same
Nice location but could do with staff training on service

good pub food, nice friendly staff, clean tidy pub right opposite the pier on the sea front,
prices were reasonable and the beer selection was excellent as well.

“Okay but could easily be better”
Reviewed 28 June 2014

I visited Pub On The Prom last week. I found it to be generally okay but a couple of things bothered me.

The first two tables I went to sit at were dirty. Looking round there were empty plates and glasses on others. It didn't seem that busy but the staff were just stood talking at the end of the bar.

I am also pretty sure that my burger was cooked using a fryer. It was extremely hard on the outside and tasted a bit funny. It was a disappointment to be honest.

Nice looking place. Staff were friendly. But overall I left & didn't feel it was worth coming back again.
