Cherry Tree Holiday Park
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 28 August 2010

Our family have just returned from a 4 day break at Cherry Tree, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Fritton caravan was very nice, with plenty of room and clean. The park is well layed out, and the grounds well kept. The majority of the staff were friendly and willing to help, whilst the parks reception were very efficient and helpful. The activities and entertainment on offer are very good, and i'm sure that if you wanted to stay on the park every day there would be plenty to do. Food and drink on the park was fine, and the evening entertainment was varied, and staff tried hard.
Enjoyed visiting Great Yarmouth and various attractions, and Cherry Tree provided a great place to base our mini-holiday. Would certainly recommend Cherry Tree, and we will no doubt return in the future.

Stayed in June this year, with a sun holiday deal, so as usual expected a fairly poor stay with lots of gripes. Instead we were really pleasantly surprised, the only gripe being the overcast, blowy weather, though this is clearly not a reflection of the park!
Booking and customer service via telephone and e mail was spot on, with helpful, friendly and informative staff, which certainly hasn't been my experience at other parks.
Similarly, check in at reception was hassle free, with no queues, no lines of unhappy customers, and with pleasant, smiling staff. A first for me too via these holidays!
The caravan was superb, in a fabulous location on the site, brand new and spotless. Faultless to be fair.
The site is immaculately maintained and a real pleasure to be part of. There are a few, certainly enough, reasonably priced activities for families, crazy golf, beach style buggies,an adventure playground, amusement arcade all on site. Each is well maintained, and staffed by smiling staff!
The indoor pool is clean and tidy, well staffed and a pleasure to visit. The outdoor pool the same, though it was way too cold to try it out!! Looked really nice though.
Food is provided via a Costa Coffee outlet next to the indoor pool, and for once its decent, though standard food, cooked well, great for kids, and reasonably priced to be fair. Staff here were friendly and smiling! It was also noticeable that the eating areas were excellently maintained, regularly tidied and cleaned after use, so it was always pleasant to eat there. Far better than expected.
The entertainment was a bit lame, but typical kids stuff with characters, painless I guess but a little tired and in need of improvement.
The location is a little limiting, though Great Yarmouth is easily do able, with its sea front long spread of the ususal seaside stuff that kids love. And parents groan at! But to be fair we found that the site provided enough for us to entertain our 6 year old without much trouble and with pretty grim weather and the help of a few Bratz dolls!!
I did also note that there is a bus stop to Great Yarmouth directly outside the park.
This site stands out for me ( and doubtless the 92% of people who recommend it!!!) because its not the ususal stuff of nightmares, that the Sun holiday can so easily bring. Its actually civilized, clean, well maintained and looked after. The staff seem to care, which makes a great deal of difference, to the cattle market feel at some of the other sites. Most of all, the staff smile, and that too makes a world of difference. We would without doubt return for a Sun holiday and I have not said that about these sites to date.

We have just returned from a week at The Cherry Tree. We went on the Sun offer, and wasn't expecting much to be honest, but was pleasently suprised at what we got! We we're allocated a caravan that was described on our booking form as being 'promotional unit', which doesn't sound too appealling! When we got there, the check in was simple & quick, once we got to our caravan we could not fault it in anyway. It was modern, clean and in a good location. Everything worked, all the locks locked, the bedrooms we're a little small for my 6ft frame but i'm kind of used to that! The park itself was clean, plenty to do for kids, indoor & outdoor play areas and swimming pools, footy & basketball court, crazy golf, amusements, go kart & buggy hire we're all good and enjoyed thoroughly by my 2 boys. The entertainment at night was excellent. The team worked their socks off to make sure everyone had a good time, and they did! The bar was a little overpriced for my liking but I am a northerner so it was to be expected! All staff we encountered we're friendly. As for Yarmouth itself, it is the best seaside resort i've been to in the UK, not at all tacky, modern but with an old fashioned style! Gorleston beach also was superb. The park is about 2 mile from Yarmouth sea front, there is a Costcutter in site, ASDA & Tesco are also within a mile of the park. All in all, I give the Cherry Tree a deserved 5 out of 5 rating. We enjoyed it so much, we are already planning to go back next year!

We had never been on a caravan holiday before but after alot of searching we found Cherry Tree. The complex is perfect for young children, clean and plenty to do. The caravan itself was spotless and had everything you needed for a week away. The central heating, combi boiler, cooker and microwave were well used during our stay. The caravan was large with plenty of space, I would agree that the beds are slightly uncomfortable. We ate in the restaurant and were equally impressed. Good night time entertainment for the children. The showbar, restaurant and indoor pool are very good. Cherry tree is close to local shops and attractions with two beaches within a short drive. Overall we would rate this very highly.

I stayed for a week with my wife and 4 year old. The caravan was nice and clean and had everything we needed. The only irritation was the mattress on the double bed had a horrid plastic coating on it, which meant it was not the most comfortable.
The pool and facilities were very good and the staff were friendy and helpful. The pub food was okay( typical chain stuff of frozen food that was Grilled, fried or went ding) when we ate there twice.
The entertainment for the kids in the evening was okay but it was very loud, it put by son off it a bit. However that said they tried hard and overall the entertainment okay. There is a small softpay area for younger ones and a good out door play area. The bars were fine, they even had a hand pull ale on in the show bar.

The site was in a good location and near facilities, the best beech by far was at Gorleston . I would return again in the future.

I visited Parkdean Cherry Tree with my girlfriend and our young daughter at the end of may 2010 through the sun holiday promotion and we all had a great time.

The accomadation we stayed in was much more than expected and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment at the park was very good and the park on a whole was excellent.

Would recommend this park to everyone and we will definitely be visiting again.

Warning for computer map users. The camp is on Mill Road in the village of Burgh Castle. There is another Mill Road in Great Yarmouth very near by!
Bank Holiday weekend ~ Family of 5 (2 adults + 7, 11 and 14 years.
I have avoided caravan parks in the past because I was worried about quality and facilities. But I was wrong to have worried. The caravan was spotless. The caravan had a proper cooker, microwave, fridge and freezer in the very clean kitchen. It had a proper flushing toilet & sink then separate bathroom with very nice electric shower (oodles of hot water) Twin beds are not for any one who is very tall.
The pool was clean and the life guards were very attentive. Some places you get the impression they are not really bothered but here they were very organised and constantly watching.
Restaurant food was good quality, about 7 to 10 pounds for most main courses. Drinks seemed a little over priced, Staff very helpful and quick.
Indoor Playframe and outdoor playgrounds were in good condition, The usual 2p and 10p games for the kids, pool table for the older kids. Not too badly priced and always someone around to sort out any problems. They did actually sort out the problems not just say they would.
Didn't go to the Show bar not our scene.
I would recommend this park to anyone wanting a uk family Break. Short drive to Gorleston beach which is lovely. We will be back
