“A lovely quiet huge campsite with pool”

Bureside Holiday Park
Attraction details
Reviewed 22 August 2014

This is a lovely well looked after campsite if you are looking for a nice quiet relaxing holiday.
There is an outdoor pool which is well maintained and a small shop offering ice-creams, milk, etc.

There are private static caravans on site too but these are in a separate area.
Site has 2 toilet blocks - well maintained and a washroom with 2 x tumble dryers.

There is a very small area for sand, swings etc but the general area near the swings when not busy is good for ball games.

Few huge fields with or without electric.

Pets welcome, Tourers welcome, Caravans Welcome,

Nearest pub is 15 mins walk in Thurne village, but I do not recommend it...

Stayed here 1st time for a long weekend in a touring Caravan. Situated approx 12 miles from Great Yarmouth, this no frill campsite is ideal for anyone wanting a break close to the Norfolk Broads.

It has 2 shower blocks, one more up to date than the other but both reasonable clean and tiny, laudry facilities, reception with small shop, childrens play area and an Outdoor Pool (i didnt use it but the children had a blast).

A minute or so walk to the waters edge so great place to canoe from. 10 minutes walk to local pub, didnt eat there but didnt hear particularly great things about it either. For evening meal i would recommend Stokesby Ferry Inn, approx 10 minutes drive back towards the town of Acle. Lovely Blackened Chicken with Jambalay, most meals around the £10-12 mark. Great beer garden with again excellent views.

Not a great fan of caravanning but would probably return (don't tell the other half that though!)

This 'out of the way' campsite is a jewel combination for those with a small boat of easy access to The Norfolk Broads, having their own easily accessible slipway and moorings, excellent camping facilities with/without hookup and clean and modern toilet/shower blocks. All this is in a wonderful natural setting with easy access to local villages, pubs and small shops. All the staff we met were considerate and helpful. The campsite reception sells essential supplies and there is a clean and well maintained swimming pool available at a small charge.
You obviously don't have to have a boat as the area is suburb for walking and exploring or just a good quality family holiday on the site.
I recommend you trying this site.
