“Seaside in October”
Reviewed 26 October 2010

Stayed in Hemsby on a deserted static caravan site, pretty much closed for the winter, went to Great Yarmouth and that too was very sparse. If you are looking for a bit of seaside 'energy' then only go there when the Sun is out...

“Chips, Bingo, & Slot machines”
Reviewed 20 October 2010

Great Yarmouth must be the chip shop capital of England.
Nearly every other shop on the sea front & the town center sold chips.
The walk down the sea front was nice if you walk on the beach side, but the other side you are bombarded with slot machines, bingo, more chip shops etc etc OK if you like that sort of thing.
Great Yarmouth feels like a pooer version of Blackpool, without the trams (they have horse & carts) & the lights.
The piers are also feel run down & are just their to take money from you.
On the plus side the beach looked OK, but as we went in mid October we didnt venture on it. Pleaseure beach looks good for the kids & parking costs seem reasonable.
Everything was clean & tidy and there were plenty of places to sit away from the glare of the amusement arcades.
Good place to take a family on holiday as everything is close at hand & there are things to keep the kids happy.
Have been to better, but have been to much worse.

“PERFECT DAY OUT”
Reviewed 2 September 2009

Loved the day trip here lots to do not too expensive the only down side was dick turpin was in charge of the parking charges ! if you go here go early as by lunch time you cant get parked. we liked it so much were going back next year for a week. just avoid the cockney bloke trying to convince you that you have a good chance of winning his huge toys , he holds your hands to control the way the game is played !

“Tired and in need of bringing up to date”
Reviewed 29 July 2009

Everything about this town says tired. In the day time you will find attraction which are overpriced and in need of updating like the model village which is full of worn out buildings falling apart and you will pay £5.50 to get in. In the evening, pubs offer bingo or karaoke and those offering music are empty as the drinks are too expensive. For shoppers, a center full of all the usual shop names or plenty of pound shops of kids toys and gifts. If your over 12 or under 75 avoid .

“Good family UK holiday..”
Reviewed 16 July 2008

Ever since i was about 5 years old we have been holidaying here as a family.. we used to do haven and then started staying in a chalet in scratby just outside of yarmouth itself..

Great yarmouth is good if you have children/teenagers as it has a mile long strip of arcades and for a british beach it is actually quite nice only downside is the not so clean sea water..

Great yarmouth offers a wide variety of shops and restuarants.. dont go to the chinese buffet on the seafront.. food is very poor!!!

Great yarmouth also boasts a sealife centre, swimming pools, cinema, bowls, and a funpark..

Kids will love it here!

There isnt really alot to do for adults.. unless you want to sunbathe which with the british weather isnt always predictable to do so.. or go shopping..

When visiting be sure to visit FATSO'S what a gorgeous place to eat!!! and great fun staff too!!!

Great yarmouth is ok for a break and for your kids but once you've been once it does get boring!!
