We spent 2 days at this wonderful hotel. The staff couldn't do enough for you and were very friendly. The rooms were large and very comfortable and the food was excellent. The wildlife club was brilliant and the maps and hints on where to see the wildlife were very good.I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to everyone and we will certainly return

Fantastic place to base a holiday, very clean & friendly, food & service second to none. The Wildlife Club is a really brilliant idea, you can join in as much or as little as you like, and always someone to help you identify that rare bird or animal you think you have seen!
Gala dinner was fantastic with the Haggis piped in and addressed, what a surprise!
Staff always willing to help you plan your days out, and happy to let you know of local places of interest, The club room with the ideas for walks etc is a really easy way to plan where you want to go, and you can even go on guided walks. If you just want to relax, then the hotel lounges have lovely comfy chairs where you can easily while away a few hours, reading books from the Club library or doing the jigsaws & games etc that are about.
Definately recommended to anyone, not just 'birdwatchers' and will be rebooking as soon as we can.

This revue may seem over the top but bear with us and read on. We originally booked for the special rate Easter birding break in November 2011, but in January I was diagnosed with throat cancer and my radiotherapy ran into the period for which we had booked. Not only did the hotel agree to transfer our deposit to a new date but also gave us the special rate for the cancelled booking at whatever time we chose to come. Eventually we arrived in September and they immediately recognised our name, not only in reception but also in the bar the restaurant and the BWWC and could not have been more attentive. The food in the retaurant was varied and excellent - how often do you find halibut on a set menu? Choice of four starters/mains and desserts and the pickiest of diners would have found something to enjoy. Breakfast was good, with the kippers freshly cooked to order, a simple idea but not always observed, even in Scottish hotels! Spacious room at the front, comfortable bed and good shower. Somewhat antiquated lift, but no real problem.Well equipped club room and an enjoyable walk led by one of the rangers in the nearby woods. We were sorry to leave and hope to return at a different time of the year.

Real Scottish style hotel, interesting old elevator, friendly staff, good beds, central location in the middle of town, very near to golf course, exquisite and well stocked collection of Scotch single malt whiskies (a paradise fo whisky lovers)

Room Tip: Drink a dram of whisky before going to bed

If you like reading in bed be warned that the bedside lamps serve a mainly decorative purpose, apart from this minor criticism this is a really good hotel, centrally situated, comfortably furnished, with good locally produced food served by friendly staff. So if you like reading in bed, don't go elsewhere, just bring a torch.

I saw the Hotel advertised in the national press with a special rate of DBB for £50 pppn. Delighted to say that the experience far outweighs the bargain price. The very well appointed public rooms are complimented by the extremely helpful, professional and deferential staff. The food was excellent with a wide and varied menu changing daily. This Hotel is run along old fashioned lines, by which I mean great personal service for the guests allied to a delightful relaxing and homely ambience that makes it feel like a home away from home. If you have the opportunity, do not miss out on this chance to sample how a traditional Scottish Highland Hotel should be run.

Room Tip: Our front facing room was quiet but still provided an excellent view
