Friendly folk but the service was a long way from excellent with very little knowledge by staff when asked simple questions.

However the very worst bit was the pancakes. How can any self respecting coffee shop dish out pancakes which obviously weighed more than the car we drove there in? Seriously, these things could form the foundation of a house! I asked for it to be heated up to see if that helped then I heard the microwave ping and for back a sweaty hunk of pancake. Inedible, doughy and denser than the Mensa rejects!

Coffee is okay though!

Oh and they call themselves an ice cream parlour. Do not get and grand vision...a standard white ice cream freezer plonked in the corner. With a bit of imagination they could make that an experience!!!

Chaplins cakes are all home baked and they taste amazing for it! It might be a bit more expensive than other cafes in Grantown but their portions and quality make up for it. Their choice of mains or lunches are good too so there is something for everyone. Would definitely reccomend and I will be returning!

Nice cafe in middle of Grantown unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down. Hubby ordered soup & ham sandwich, which was passable , bread a bit dry . I went for a prawn marie rose sandwich which was soggy & not very pleasant, very vinegary & thin sauce (it was dripping out of bread) had to leave last bits of bread as they were like mush , must admit side salad was really nice though. Service was very good & friendly.

This was a good place to eat for a quick snack or light lunch. The homebakes were to die for and had a nice friendly atmosphere. The only reason this lost a mark was that it is a little small place and the tables were quite close together so we felt a little hemmed in
