This small museum is packed with information & displays about the Grants & how the local area & town were established. There is interactive listening points to confirm the details of the displays.
Look out for the clock tower outside.

An excellent display of the town's interesting history, well set out and labelled. A highlight for me was the chance to play the clarsach, a small harp.

This is not a very big museum; the current exhibition relates the origin and history of the town , with iPad cameos of members of the Ogilvy- Grant family. A good place to spend a little time if it's raining but not really a must. Good well lstocked shop, friendly staff, parking nearby and very good disabled access into the museum.

If you have Grant ancestry like I do, this museum is an absolute MUST see. If you don't it's still well worth the modest entrance fee to see the development of planned city Grantown-on-Spey. And the docents who are the quiet and intelligent backbone of this museum. They are genuinely interested in their museum and of any ancestor hunting visitors!

This is a splendid little museum that perfectly balances national and local social history with interesting artefacts and attractive information boards suitable for all ages. We spent a very happy couple of hours here and the staff were delightful, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and very helpful. The museum is also beautifully maintained and there is none of that run down, a bit tacky and stuff not working that often happens in small local museums. An excellent example of it’s type and well worth a visit.
There was also a very good photography exhibition on display.
