Having been recommended this hotel by a friend, I must admit that we will not be recommending it to further friends. The rooms were run down, temperature was high, with no air conditioning or even airflow going through the room with the windows wide open. We asked for a room change but the check in staff we unable to accommodate due full occupancy. The reception staff were rude and were not helpful in the slightest. The dinner, which was boasted about when we checked in, was in a restaurant with zero atmosphere and only one other couple dining when we were there. The food was ok, however, for the price, we would have rather have eaten elsewhere just to get out the hotel. Breakfast was fine, the wait staff great. We will not be staying here again, once is enough!
Dear Guest I'm sorry we failed to impress which we always try to achieve. As you can understand it is difficult to change guests rooms when the hotel is fully occupied but we do when possible always try & accommodate all requests. I do hope you would consider staying with us again so we can restore your faith in us
Stayed here for a friends wedding nearby. It was a pretty warm weekend and the room we stayed in was sooo warm. Including the cold water! There was no cold water. No way of making the room cooler either as the windows didn't open far and no air con (which is fine, we do live in the uk afterall!) Breakfast was quick and efficient also very tasty.
There was nothing particularly wrong with the hotel and like I say breakfast and service was good. For us though somehow the place felt a little...well just average/ok so that's why we've not given it 4 out of five.
Dear Guest Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback .I do hope you would consider staying with us again to give us the opportunity to prove we are much better than average
We booked in for a meal sat 26th July as we had a voucher bought for us last Christmas. The menu was not very seasonal and most things were served with mash and gravy, the chicken dish was served with mushrooms but no cheese, not very tasty and the chicken was pink in the middle. The bread and butter pudding was very odd with so much chocolate on it,very overpowering!! The cheesecake wasn't great either! And finally the black bag of dirty washing in the corner of the restaurant not that attractive either ! All in all a fantastic building with less than fantastic food !!
Dear Guest I'm really sorry you didn't enjoy your dining experience & do hope you will be able to visit us again so we may have the opportunity to restore your faith in us
Booked a room to kick start the holidays- love how this hotel welcomes pets and our Poppy was made very welcome.
Booked the four poster room which was expensive and was a little underwhelming. The four poster bed itself was marvellous and the room size fab- just here and there the decor seemed a little dated. The bathroom was also a bit sad and tired looking.
However the car park and position for the town was great. The staff were all so nice particularly the young waiter who was jack of all trades in the evening and although he was busy was very friendly and attentive. We had dinner which was great, but the vegetarian option was limited, this was the same at breakfast. But again the staff were wonderful and smiley.
We chose this hotel for its history and exterior, the lounge and bar were comfortable but the room just needed tweaking to make it worth the money.
Dear Guest Thank you very much for your feedback .I'm really pleased our staff impressed you so much & will pass this onto them. we hope that you will be able to come back & vist us again
Located in Grantham’s main high street, the 600 year old Angel & Royal Hotel has been a convenient meeting point over many years for our northern based family members to meet our southern based family members and enjoy a get-together over a superb Sunday roast. We dine like royalty for the day in the impressive Kings Room with its original stone carvings and beamed ceilings, situated at the front of the building overlooking the marketplace and High Street. We have followed in the shadows of previous Royal visitors along the building's fascinating historic journey from King John to Edward III with many other visitors including the Brotherhood of the Knights Templar. Much of this history is told via the Hotel’s interesting history wall in the lobby. Well worth a visit.
Dear Guest We are thrilled you felt like royalty during your stay & hope you will come back to our little palace again
