A great time away, we had a lodge (dog friendly which was brilliant) and our parents had two rooms in the hotel. The lodges are comfortable and well equipped with a veranda to sit out on the sun and a grass outside to let the dog out and play games. The rooms at the hotel were plush, showers were lovely. All had great facilities. The food at the hotel was lovely and staff friendly.

In addition to this, I left my keys in the lodge on the Friday afternoon and by the Saturday morning they were in the post to me to arrive Monday morning. I couldn't have asked for better than that!

We enjoyed our stay and would definitely return - thank you!

my wife, myself and our little lakeland terrier have just spent 4 great nights at this great little hotel, all the staff are friendly with nothing too much bother to them, the rooms are very luxurious and comfortable, the food is excellent as is the beer, set in a very quiet spot with great access to the lakes and Grange over sands, we will definately be back.

Room Tip: all rooms are perfect

Stayed in the Pine Lodges with family including a 4 year old child.

Liked the look and feel of pine lodge accommodation and furniture inside. Free Sauna within the lodge was a surprise and very well received.
Ample parking and quiet surrounding- didnt try the hotel food but could see happy faces around.

Bedrooms were average sized - what I didnt like was the electric heaters in the room(somehow not comfortable with them - so maybe its me!!)

Booked one of the pine lodges for a 2 night (Fri and Sat) mini break, for myself, my partner, my daughter and her 3.5 year old son. Arrived Friday afternoon to find a beatiful location not too far from the motorway. The Hotel looked very relaxing and comfortable when we went to book in. Shown our lodge which was on the small site leading up to the hotel with 6 or 7 other lodges, not too close together, surrounded by grass verges, felt private and was quiet. The lodge was amazing, very clean, very well equiped and well furnished. The bathroom had a spa bath, good shower and a sauna, it was heaven! We all really enjoyed our stay, the only regret was that we could not stay longer. Will go back again.

Woodlands is in Meathop which is tiny and isolated. A busy caravan park is next door, a golf course along the very rough access road and a few houses. Fifteen minutes drive back to Grange-over-Sands where the train station and retail are. Don't mean the foregoing as a deterrent. Whilst not near any lakes, Woodlands, particularly the chalets, make a great base we thought for touring the Lakes District. We enjoyed the rural location and tranquility if perhaps not the very bad local road, which is not Woodlands fault. Dan on Reception was wonderful. Extremely efficient, attentive and helpful. His suggestions and advice great. The 2 bedroom chalet we had for 4 nights was outstanding value for money. It was warm and cosy, clean, spacious, all mod cons then some. The kitchen had a dishwasher, mini frig, wall oven, counter top hotplates and every conceivable pot, pan or utensil so self catering easy. No washing machine in our chalet, perhaps some have them. Had huge sauna room accessed from very large bathroom which had separate shower stall and a large corner jacuzzi bath. Sauna/heat wasted on us, were trying to escape it, and this might have kept our electricity usage to a minimum. Electricity is on a meter/card basis and we apparently used very little. Heaters in all rooms. The bed linens, bath rugs and tea towels are supplied but bath towels must be taken by guests or can be hired. Think it is £10 for 2 sets. Bed comfortable and we slept very well.
Our chalet had a large front deck accessed by two sets of French doors from lounge and dining room and it was a lovely sun trap and we even braved the cold to eat out morning and night and in summer this would be a real bonus and very enjoyable. We bought enough groceries in GoS first day and after long days out and about the Lake Windermere district we loved the ease of cooking a good meal in the chalet and enjoying the twilight. So we never ate in Woodlands Hotel which did look like a lovely venue. WIFI was only available in the hotel area. We loved our stay at Woodlands and are glad we didn't stay in an actual lake town as we found them all quite manic during the days and appreciated the peace, beauty and ease of parking as well as the fantastic chalet at Woodlands. Lovely walks too. Was a much cheaper, more spacious alternative to a Lake stay also. We highly recommend a chalet. Was a very beautiful and unique experience there.

Room Tip: The chalets are wonderful and extremely good value for money for a long stay.
