A lovely trip and peaceful stay

Stayed here for the first time this weekend. I’ve been in for food and drinks before now when I had a caravan and used to go to the caravan club site next door.

I stayed in the Pine Lodge, which was Swiss style and dog friendly. Normally dog friendly accommodation still smells of dog, but the lodge was spotlessly clean, no dog smell and surprisingly well equipped. It has everything you need and was very warm and comfortable, even in snow and below zero conditions.

Toiletries are included as well as bedding and towels. The bathroom also has a spa bath and there is a small sauna by the front door (although didn’t use it).

The staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A big thank you to Angelina who I coordinated with regarding a surprise meal for my dad’s 60th. Early check in was allowed and I was able to decorate the room beforehand and the food was excellent.
Date of stay: December 2023
Room Tip: If you have dogs, dogs are allowed in the conservatory area and bar area only, which is plenty...

We stopped off for a drink and were pleasantly surprised.
The barman was so friendly and made a cracking fire for us to sit next to.
It was very quiet, which was fine, we just chatted to the young bar man.
We would definitely return. Lovely bar area, super friendly staff and next time we will try the food.

We’re staying at the caravan club site next door and ambled up the hill and found this gem of a place we never realised was here and open to non residents. We enjoyed drinks on the Friday and a fabulous meal on the Sunday, absolutely fabulous!

Lovely Liam was on duty on both occasions and the nicest young man we’ve come across in a long time, an absolute credit to the hotel itself and whoever brought him up.

They’re dog friendly too so we could eat inside rather than food going cold eating on a terrace we brought our own food for our pooches but they did enjoy a morsel of steak and a chip each we had no room for pudding but the dessert selection looked lush ❣️

Room tip: Anybody staying on the CAMC site really needs to give the place a try and as the site is open all year round, New Years Eve is an option🥳‼️

Clean, welcoming, friendly Hotel with friendly staff. Serving tasty food. I had Sea Bass with Roasted Vegetables and Chorizo. There was a good selection of Vegetarian options also as two of our family members don’t eat meat. Great selection of gins also. We’ll be back.

We stayed here over a long bank holiday weekend, with several of us staying in different lodges. It is a very quiet and relaxing place to stay. The Nordic style lodges have a sauna in, which is a great addition to have.

The kitchen has plenty of equipment in it: glasses, plates, pans, etc. and there is plenty of space within the lodges. The veranda catches the sun on an afternoon.

Room tip: It's worth paying the upgrade for the wi-fi.
