Just had 2 great nights dinner b& b in a lovely friendly and charming hotel. Food was top class as was our grand bedroom with a four poster bed.Staff very friendly nothing too much trouble would not hesitate to return. For all you walkers do the hospice walk from the hotel. Once you are up to the hospice the views are magnificent.Cannot wait to do it all again.

Stayed at this property over the last weekend. Can only reiterate all the good that has previously been said by so many people. Very welcoming to us and our doggie. Food is as good as any cruise ship we have been on---sweets are to die for. Very homely. First class service. An absolute farce that this hotel is rated as two stars--beats many four stars we have stayed in.
Very highly recommended

This was our second stay at this lovely family-run hotel. Although it initially feels a little way out from the town, this is a bit deceiving as it is only 10 minutes walk on a path through the woods. The hotel is very clean and comfortable with a blazing log fire, which was a delight to come ‘home’ to after a walk across the fells. The food is excellent with a good choice and very nicely presented. We had two children with us and as a family were made to feel very welcome. A very enjoyable stay and excellent value for money. We anticipate returning again next year.

This is a lovely family-run hotel, nestling up the hillside a short walk away from Grange's shops and train station. Very homely and comfortable, we stayed in a good sized room which had a lovely view out onto the gardens.

The full English breakfast was great. Compared to other B&B breakfasts this didn't feel too heavy and it left just enough room for a few slices of toast. If you didn't want a cooked breakfast, there were good options for cereal, yoghurt and fruit including prunes and apricots. We were particularly impressed to find our room had been cleaned and tidied when we returned there after breakfast!

During a rainy afternoon we also stayed at the hotel for a pot of tea which was very relaxing sat in front of the log fire in the lounge/bar area.

We also ate our evening meal at the hotel on one night. This was, on the whole, very good although we felt the duck was a bit overcooked and mentioned this at the time. However, the slow cooked venison we ordered was pretty faultless; extremely tender and full of flavour.

All in all, a very enjoyable short stay; definitely recommended.

I stayed at this wonderful small hotel for 3 nights. On arrival I was stunned by the amazing setting of the building which nestles on the hillside above Grange over Sands. The extensive terraced gardens are brimming with beautiful flowers even at this time of year. Outdoor seating would provide fantastic views over the bay in warmer weather. The hotel is cosy with comfortable furnishings and an open log fire. My room was spacious and clean with an extensive range of toiletries and a well stocked tea tray. The most impressive aspect of this hotel was t he wonderful food. Breakfasts and dinners are cooked to order and I cannot imagine that you would have better meals in a 5 star establishment. The family owners were very attentive and I could not find anything about my stay on the negative side.

We stayed here in September arriving early Saturday evening, the family run hotel is located along a long drive and is situated at the top of the hill. Inside it is quite traditional, homely and the bedroom/bathroom are adequately furnished. The hotel also allows guests to bring their pet dogs in and considering I’m allergic to animals I had no problem because of the cleanliness of the hotel. Possibly we should have stayed for the evening dinner rather than visit Grange over Sands because we could not find anywhere to eat even searching on the internet. The closest place for food was a pub called The Rose and Crown we found via Tripadvisor 4 miles away, sadly we can’t give you a review because every table was empty but had a reserve sign on. After finally findingsomewhere to eat we returned and the hotel car park was nearly full with non residents eating in the restaurant, possibly this shows how good the homemade food is. Looking at the breakfast menu maybe we should have stayed for dinner.
Overall the hotel is really fine and based near to the local woods good for country walks. If you want a hotel and a complete resort to be very quiet and away from today’s busy life this is for you.
