“Wedding Party”
Reviewed 14 January 2014

Stayed in November 2013 as part of a wedding party. Hotel is beautiful as was the room we stayed in (218 I think?) which was beautifully furnished with a 4-poster bed and large bathtub in the room, flat screen TV, dresser and separate bathroom with a shower and loo. My partner said he had an issue with standing up to pee and the sloping roof was too steep and he hit his head a couple of times!
Breakfast left a little to be desired but then we are spoilt as my partner is a breakfast manager in a hotel! Perfectly acceptable though.
The food on the night of the wedding was lovely and the staff all very kind and helpful.
A bit pricey, but then the lakes is and you get what you pay for!
Would recommend for a stay in the lakes or a romantic get away.

Room Tip: If all the rooms are the same as the one we stayed in then any of them are good!

we have just returned from a weekend away at this superb hotel, the huge room number 217 was lovely with a separate living area and a gorgeous slipper bath.
when i booked i did tell them of my medical conditions and all the staff, especially andrea went out of their way to help me, wonderfull service by all!
the breakfast is one of the best i have ever had and i have travelled widely with my husband, who by the way loved the pool and said it was like stepping into a warm bath.
if you like good old fashioned customer service as it should be and beautiful ornate and wonderfully clean rooms and communal areas then you have to stop here.
the only thing if there was something i didnt like was that the beds had blankets and not duvets as i do prefer a duvet, but that said the beds were very comfortable.
that is the only negative comment but please dont let this tiny thing put you off staying here.
we are planning to go back in a few weeks and take my mother in law, who i know will love it too.
well done to you all what a credit to the hotel are the staff and well done to the owners for a simply stunning hotel

We had been a few times before with family but not for about 6years and many of the staff were still there making it a very welcoming experience. It is a lovely place to go with a group of people as there are plenty of areas to sit together as a group.
My husband and I were given a complimentory up grade to a room with wonderful views and our daughter had requested flowers for our room.
Dinner was as good as I remembered.
Location is good for exploring and walking along the prom. No car necessary. Good train trips from the Station opposite.
We had a wonderful 2 days together and will be making a return before too long.

Room Tip: Choose a room with a view

Had a wonderful weekend at the Grange Hotel. The staff could not do enough for you..this was right from the first telephone call to check availability, up to checking out. The room 211 was absolutely gorgeous. Had a lovely 5 course meal on the Saturday. Could not fault this hotel.

After searching for wedding venues in the area last summer, Grange Hotel was the last venue we visited (certainly not least) and we completely fell in love with everything grange had to offer! In all venues that we visited this beautiful place is a gem. You are immediately welcomed by passionate and caring people (Hugh and his team) who would go above and beyond to help you. I can not recommend this place enough to people who are looking for a wedding venue! It is a truly elegant, classic and welcoming place and we found no other place like it, the customers and guests are clearly at the heart of this hotel. We get married in July 15 and have fell completely in love with it! Every little excuse for a visit!!

Just arrived back from a two night family stay at The Grange Hotel and struggling to think of a single negative about it. In our view this is an exceptional hotel. Our room on the first floor captured magnificent views over the town and the estuary. The room was well furnished and had possibly the largest hotel bathroom we had ever seen! The leisure facilities are perfect. The pool and jacuzzi were well used by all our party. All the staff were excellent as nothing was too much trouble for them. Serving the needs of each and every customer is obviously the main philosophy of the team as we were extremely well catered for. Finally both evening meals in Carriages Restaurant were stunning. Surprise appetisers, scrumptious starters, a soup and sorbet course and superb main courses were followed by ridiculously tasty desserts. We all agreed that this was some of the nicest food we had tasted. Washed down with beautiful wine and served by the excellent waiting on team, both evenings were thoroughly enjoyed by all. We will, without doubt, return to the Grange Hotel next time we are visiting the Lakes.

It must be 15 years since we were last at The Grange so we were hoping that it would be as good as we remembered - just using it for an overnight stay on the way back from Scotland.. Arrived in the middle of a large wedding celebration so might have expected a bit of disruption but we were welcomed and guided to our room as if we were the only ones there. After a couple of G&Ts in the bar we took our places for dinner in "Carriages Restaurant" - an unusual, but excellent "amuse bouche" in the form of a mini baked potato with Garlic Mayo, which Mrs P followed with Seafood Ravioli whilst I had the Pork Belly, then Celeriac & Spinach Soup with roasted Pinenut. We both opted for the Fillet Steak washed down with Pinotage. After a little rest Mrs P went for the Milk Chocolate Panacotta but I could only manage a scoop of Ice Cream! Breakfast? Yes, we still had room for that - and the only down-side of the stay - the hated toaster which other guests "adjust" so that the toast is either un-done or black. It happens everywhere and is the one thing that is crying out for an inventor to overcome......? Overall The Grange was even better than we remembered it. Sad that we were only "one-nighters".

Room Tip: We were in 232 - the hotel layout is slightly disorientating but I would call it the "back"...
