My friend and I stopped at the Netherwood for dinner bed and breakfast in July. It was for my birthday and we were very well looked after particularly by Michael. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. The food was excellent both the evening meal and breakfast. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse on the second day so we had to head up home a little bit earlier than expected but a lovely and wonderful experience thank you to you all for a wonderful experience. I would recommend paying the extra for a bay view room.

My husband and I would like to express our appreciation for the quality of service this hotel gave whilst hosting our Silver Wedding Celebration. Especially the excellent service provided by the staff, quality of fine wines, and delicious meal served to our guests. A BIG THANK YOU to Michael Fallowfield for your time and effort leading up to the event to ensure we were able to incorporate our menu's, table settings, flowers, speeches, cutting of the cake and setting off the balloons on the croquet lawn to our beloved son Bruce in heaven. Your staff are a real credit to you, very attentive, polite and efficiently served a piping hot meal which was thoroughly enjoyed..It truly was a memorable occasion and we will be recommending your hotel to our many friends and wish you all the best for the future...Yours very sincerely Sheila and Michael Burns..XXXX

We stayed for two nights and I went to the my 50th school reunion lunch. The hotel really looked after us with excellent service and delicious food. We ate n the restaurant in he bar and in the library for a private function. The food was beautifully served and everything tasted delicious. We had a lovely room overlooking the sea and we could open the windows and let the fresh air in - so rare in many hotels. Lovely toiletries as well and free wifi.

Room Tip: Choose one with a sea view, you can see the tide rushing in.

The room that we were provided with, although paying full price, was 'pokey' and did not provide the comfort that one would expect of a high class hotel. The staff at breakfast were somewhat 'off hand'. The quality of the breakfast itself was 'below average' for a hotel of this standard.
The actual building and gardens are fascinating- it would help to have more information on the history of the place.

We stayed for 3 nights - the hotel and our room were very comfortable. We had a bay view - fantastic! The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Reasonably equipped gym and small indoor pool. Will definitely go back.

It must be some stupid reason that it is not 4*.
The 1890 doctors grand mansion is the super hotel. It has spectacular views over Morecombe Bay from all front rooms, the spacious.well kept gardens are a delight to relax in.
The dinner from limited menu and breakfast in good restaurant made the exceptional experience.
Quality, clean Edwardian ambiance was a positive. All staff were helpful.
Grange over Sands with its long floral promenade was only 5 mins walk away.
A gym and pool are close to lift and easily accessible.
Will soon be back, but will check position of room.m

Room Tip: I am a light sleeper and was aware of distant train noise after 6 am. I slept better than home.

Hotel is set in large gardens and beautifully located overlooking Morecambe Bay.
Less than 10 minutes walk to town centre and half-an-hour by car to Lake Windermere.
Large room with good-sized flat screen TV, though bedroom carpet threadbare in places and no safe or fridge.
Breakfast food very good - did not take dinner.
All staff friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Front facing rooms overlook gardens and Morecambe Bay.
