Stayed here recently as a base for attending the Test cricket at Chester-le-Street. It's ideal for that, as long as you have a car. It's a peaceful spot on the farm so sleep quality was very good. And the units are very comfortable and well equipped. En suite facilities very nice. And handy to be able to join up two apartments.
Only qualifier is that these are built in the environs of a working farm so the view isn't all that great and it's not the sort of bucolic English sojourn that some might crave.

Thank you for taking the time to post a reveiw and glad you enjoyed your stay with us even if it was not the result you hoped for in the cricket.
We hope to see you and your friends the next time you enjoy some cricket in the area or want to explore more of the North East. Kind regards Angus and Louise

Stayed for 2 nights in July. Although we had booked a room we were upgraded to a unit. We had a very warm welcome and the unit was extremely comfortable. The location was quiet with wonderful views. Breakfast was delicious. An added bonus was a voucher for reduced entrance to Beamish. This is one of the better places we have stayed for a long time and, if in the area would definitely stay here again

We stayed at Millars Barn for two nights prior to our son's wedding on 27 April 2013. Other members of the family and friends had also booked properties owned by Riding Farm. The cottages are extremely warm and comfortable with fabulous big beds, lovely bathrooms and very well equipped kitchens. Extra thoughtful touches include milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and biscuits, wine and marmalade. Staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. Food ordered in one night was extremely good value and loads of it. Would thoroughly recommend this accommodation.

We booked to stay here at last minute and couldn't have made a better choice. The cottage was fantastic with everything we needed (including milk in the fridge).
We travelled with 2 young children and nothing was too much hassle.
The only negative point I found was that the floors were a little dirty. But other than that I couldn't fault it (and I am extremely fussy).

My husband and I have just spent two weeks in this lovely cottage (well, more like a little bungalow). We had everything we needed and more. How lovely to have a dishwasher, a real treat! So many wonderful little touches, milk, tea, sugar & biscuits available on arrival. A huge bed, with a super topper on the mattress - unbelievably comfortable! A bath AND a shower - home from home, and a shower fit for a king! No shortage of hot water or warmth from radiators, if required (which we did!). Parking was very close. The location was perfect for peace and quiet - so tranquil and restful. The owners, Louise & Angus, were on hand most of the time for any queries and were very kind and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. They have thought of everything and it was all very high spec. Very well done. I give them 11 out of 10! Everything excellent. Hope we can come again some time. Thank you so much.

We stayed in this beautiful cottage for 3 nights. It was well priced, in a beautiful setting. We had everything we needed in our little barn, including lots of extra stuff that you simply do not get in many places. The owners, Louise & Angus are around most of the time & are happy to help with anything they can, whilst not invading your privacy & still allowing you to enjoy your break. This is a well thought out build, both structure & business, & we will become regular guests now we've found it. The owners also have a feedback book, which means that anything you are, or aren't happy with you can let them know. They are not afraid to listen to constructive criticism & will take points on board, even if not to make permanent change. I have the utmost respect for the whole place & its lucky lucky owners....
