We booked last minute for this hotel on the spur of the moment, cost just under £60 for night which was real VFM as the hotel is fab, short walk into Ncle, bottle of wine only £18.50 perfect.... NOW for the bad, car parking, the car park is small and not big enough for all guests, the car park next to it owned by Baltic what a rip off £1 an hour (£17 for our stay on top of hotel) which makes this not such a good deal, no discount given by hotel either so full price to pay! We were planning to stay this Fri and next however with the hotel costs it takes it out of the VFM range and if you look around you can get cheaper with discounted or free parking. A real shame as we often stay ad-hoc in Ncle and this looked to be a great hotel :-(

Room Tip: We had a room facing the Baltic and river, really great views :-)

Stayed here for a night out in Newcastle with my husband. The hotel was very clean and the room was very spacious. The breakfast was well worth the money plenty to choose from. The only problem we had was the hot water wasn't very hot I don't know if it was because everyone would have been using at the same time or what but it was just say hot at 7.30 pm. The location of the hotel is ideal, we had a lovely walk along the riverside and across the bridge.

I've stayed here several times. The first couple of times were excellent but the last visit was disappointing. Now charge to park your car in their pokey little car park. Beer was poor quality and improperly served and breakfast was only ok. They seem to be skimping on the quality of the ingredients. Rooms, staff and location are all good so you pays your money and takes your choice. I'l try another hotel next time.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the river

We don't live far from Newcastle anyway so knew exactly where we were staying location wise. Have to say the hotel is very clean and the room was more than adequate. Think we must have drifted off as soon as our heads hit the pillow on our return from our night out, but we certainly never heard any noise in the corridoors etc, and there were what looked like quite a few stag/hen parties or just weekend away groups. We heard more noise in the morning with people getting up for breakfast or leaving! Would certainly stay again. The only down points, if we are nit picking, is that there is not enough milk in the room between 2 people (only 3 tiny cartons) and I can only assume the cleaner did not leave the usual quota. We could have gone down to reception and asked for more but as it was only one night, I just had tea without milk in the morning. Also the bath/shower gel is a total waste of time if you prefer a bath to a shower, which I do. You need to be a contortionist to be able to use the soap in the bath as they are attached higher up on the wall, so I wish I had actually brought my own, but was trying to travel as light as possible as we had left the car at home, having read about the extortionate parking charges at the hotel. We never eat in a hotel anyway, as prefer to eat out, so cannot comment on the breakfast. But we also agree that there needs to be another member of staff on reception as it can be quite a long wait just to hand your security cards back when checking out. All in all though we enjoyed our stay and will definitely book again.

The Jurys Inn is in a good location by the Tyne, close to the Baltic, Sage and the Millenium bridge. We were given a spacious room which was clean comfortable and everything worked and there was free wifi in the room (along with a pay option). So far so good. We chose to eat at the hotel and the restaurant has a very pleasant riverside location. Now the not so good; we waited over 30 minutes for the starter (both cold items) and then they hastily cleared these because the mains were ready and waiting on the pass, considering there were only a few people in the restaurant this was a bit sloppy. The portions size seemed rather small and they were uninspired. The creme brulee was grilled without the sugar so it was a warm mush. So let down by timing and technical problems. The hotel offers a 20% restaurant discount BUT only if reserved at booking time. There were very few staff on reception so you can expect a 10-15min wait at both checkin and checkout. Finally they add a £6 charge to recover your car from the car park. There are much better restaurants nearby so we would not eat here again, but we might consider a stay.

Stayed here with a group of friends in 4 rooms. Great location. Lovely hotel decor very clean with lovely staff and well priced.
Problems i can see are the parking is terrible for such a large hotel. And its full of party people. Alarm bells rang when we arrived back at the hotel after our night out at 2.30am and there were 3 huge albeit very friendly bouncers on the door running up and down the hotel sorting rowdy folk out in their rooms/corridors. By 4am the levels of noise on our floor were quite scary. Doors slamming every other second, screaming and shouting and then the fire alarms got purposely set off. The bouncers were there trying to calm everything and eventually the noise stopped. In conclusion i wouldnt stay here with my family, it is no way suitable for children which is a shame.
But if you like to party and dont mind others doing the same, go for it the place is great for that!

We were transferred to this hotel after Late Rooms wrongly cancelled our reservation at the Jurys Inn Gateshead.

I am glad they did in the end as we had a fab time at the Quayside, the manager and other hotel staff were more than helpful and went beyond what we could of expected.7

We will definitely be going back!

(A special thanks to Ann Bright!!!!)
