“Great views & great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

We stayed two nights while visiting Newcastle for a wedding. We arrived on Thursday, leaving Saturday. The hotel provides an excellent breakfast buffet served until 11; late check-out until 12; excellent shower, really powerful; staff were very nice; lovely location right on the river with beautiful views; comfy beds.

There were only a few cons: there was a 2 inch gap under the door to the room which let in a powerful amount of light. I blocked it using our suitcase. They charge for WiFi. The weekends seem to be full of hen/stag dos. However, despite the numerous stag/hen dos booked into the hotel, it was still very quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend staying here, as it's a great location and great value.

Room Tip: Top floor. If you book a room on the front of the hotel, the bar terrace is just below so that might...

Hotel was clean and tidy and good value for money. Staff we're not very friendly and the bar staff exceptionally slow. Security on the door at night were unnecessarily confrontational. It is well positioned for a good night out and not need a taxi

Stayed with a group of friends for the weekend, this is an excellent hotel in a great riverside location with tables out side to eat your breakfast. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great lots of choice and topped up regularly. I'd definitely stay again.

The Hotel was neat and tidy and our room was perhaps better than we had expected. The dining room had a lovely view over the river. However, it is our considered impression that the Hotel is not really geared up for coping with coach parties, as the headings for writing reviews cover the following only --- Families, Couples, Solo, and Business clients. Hence the waiters seemed to have had no basic idea of what they were about, and at times seemed to be rushing about like headless chickens; On one night we had a three different waiters serve us our three course dinner. If one likes there vegetables partially cooked, and the meat tuff this is the Hotel for you.
As for us, we will NOT be returning to sample their delights.

Room Tip: Front of hotel rooms can get somewhat noisy.
