“Papa Joe,s plaice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2014 via mobile

Visited this friendly relaxing bar/restaurant on bank holiday week-end and had a very good pub meal . And as usual were welcomed by the lovely papa Joe. We all tried something different and were not dissapointed . Lovely tasty home made food . Slightly pricey but still worth the money and chips were home made . Don't know how anyone can say they have a poor beer selection as I counted 7 draught beers ( how many do you need for heavens sake ) all in all a pleasant lunch with a good honest italian/ English cuisine .
And friendly staff. just what you wish for in your local pub. You don't fancy moving your pub to north Tyneside do you papa Joe .?

“Excellent Pub Grub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

We have eaten here on a number of occasions because it is next to the Holiday Inn, where we have stayed. The owner and family are very welcoming and the atmosphere is more of a friendly local rather than a Metro Centre restaurant chain.
The first page of the menu offers some real delights, particularly, the Chicken Kiev (slightly too large a portion for me). The side salad is also fresh and the chips are delicious. One criticism would be that the portions are slightly too large.
Overall - Really good!

“nice place, good food.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

nice restaurant, tucked away so it's been quiet the few times we've been here.

It looks like a country pub inside, service was good, good choice and quality of food.

Lovely orange sorbet :)
