Great staff, nice food. Decent outdoor seating when the weather is nice. Beautiful surroundings. An all round nice establishment

“Gone very downhill”
Reviewed 15 August 2014

The food is not of a good standard, long wait for food that had to be sent back as it wasn't cooked as requested, staff are pleasant tho.

“Good service”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

Really friendly staff, nice setting (good view of Angel of the North from the car park!) but is part of a chain, so menu is a bit predictable.

“Shocking service”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

First off, I have to say that I've been going to The Ravensworth for years and have never faulted it. The food has always been of an amazing quality and the service of a reasonable level.
However today was shocking. We were a party of 3 and seated within 5 minutes. The server took our drinks order immediately and gave us a "minute" to decide what we wanted to eat.
The drinks sat on the bar for about 10 minutes (I could see them). Eventually the bar staff brought them over and didn't ask if we were ready to order.
So we waited some more, fifteen minutes to be exact, whilst I watched a female server take everyone else's order who had been seated after us. When I leant over to catch her she walked off and ignored us.
I paid for the drinks and left. Never again

“Nice meal”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

Went to celebrate birthday. Food looked and tasted nice but took a bit long to arrive. Staff very attentive but a bit over the top some times. Some one complained batter on fish too cripsy seemed alright to me there was no soggy batter. Would visit again. You dont have to be in a hurry when you visit but worth it.
