Myself and partner stayed in the hotel on 5/10/13 and 6/10/13 we have stayed in the hotel before so when we wanted a weekend shopping at the metro we decided to stay in the hotel just to get away for a couple of days. On our first night we had a meal in the restaurant which was gorgeous and very good value for money. We were a little concerned that we weren't going to get much rest as there were lots of groups of young people going out but we didn't hear a thing we had a great nights sleep. The staff are really friendly and can't do enough for you and the breakfast is lovely too. Our room was spotless and comfortable as always my only disappointment was our view (looking out on bins) but that problem was soon solved when we closed the curtains :) we would definitely recommend staying in this hotel and we will definitely be returning!

Initial receptionist not pleasant, but other staff were.Room window directly in front of a duct. So dirty it was virtually impossible to see through it and we had presumably breathed in the products of the duct during the night. We hope they were not hazardous. In addition you couldn't wash hands after using toilet without exiting the bathroom. Considering the number of people who must use the room not a good or hygienic arrangement.

Good sized room with very comfortable beds. Warm welcome despite it being a chain hotel. Highlight was the cooked breakfast, best bacon I have eaten in ages and excellent eggs and good coffee. I can only give three stars for value since we paid 72 pounds for the night.
Premier Inns, if you are reading this, your staff all deserve a pay rise.

Stay here most weeks so the staff get to know us single travelers. As said before internet is £3 for 24 hours which isnt bed but you get 30 mins free to start with.Staff are good and smile and are chatty once you get to know them after a few trips.
Book the restaurant as it gets busy. Food to typical premier inn style and is all good but the day I went i thought of a burger and all the dressing. It was really badly presented and poor value for money. They changed it for my usual choice.

Room Tip: book a meal time on arrival.

Lovely hotel with excellent service, lovely friendly staff, clean room and meals to die for in the restaurant! What more could you ask for? Also ran a coach/taxi service to the great north run which help all us runners out greatly!

We booked in this Premier Inn using their Premier Saver, which offers a very good deal if you can fix your trip early.
The hotel is a bit further away from Newcastle city centre but it is easily accessible by bus and by car. The hotel is in the ground of a new small commercial complex which is quite pleasant with shops, a bakery, a convenient store and a coffee shop.
The entrance to the Hotel leads to a spacious reception area. Staff are reasonably friendly and helpful. To get to the lift to the rooms, one has to pass through the bar area. In the evening when we returned to the hotel, there were a party of drinkers, who were a bit rowdy. My wife and I had to almost fight our way pass this party before we could get to the lift. The layout of the bar area should be changed to improve on this.
Our bedroom was nice and spacious with two double beds. It seemed fairly new. The layout of the room was a bit different from the other Premier Inns I have stayed in. There was a small shower room with the toilet with the wash hand basin located outside the shower room. This actually made the room looked even bigger. The shower facility is in a spacious cubicle complete with a small bench seat, probably the best shower facility I have come across in all the Premier Inns I have stayed in. More of these should be installed. A minor issue with the wash hand basin - it was a very modern looking one but drained far too slowly. We reported this to one of the staff and she informed us that it would be looked at the following day. We only stayed for one night, so did not know if it was resolved at the end. This should have been checked before the room was let out to customers. Given the room looked relatively new, this may pose a long term problem for asset management.
Whilst we had a fairly good night sleep, we did hear the noise from the lorries driving pass in the middle of the night despite having the double glazed window shut. However, given the surrounding area having a number of industrial looking buildings, this should be expected as the night time delivery may be taking place.
All in all, this is an above average Premier Inn that has a couple of minor issues. If these could be resolved, it would make this an even better place to stay in Newcastle.
