“Good stay”
Reviewed 3 November 2013

This is the eighth time my wife and I have stayed at a Premiere Inn and following our previous good experiences, we decided to stay once again whilst visiting the North East of UK.

On this visit we only stayed for one night only and all the staff were excellent as on previous visits to Premier Inns. We arrived at normal check in time and the very friendly receptionist and checked us straight away.

The only small problem was that we were adjacent to the main road side and quite a bit of traffic noise throughout the night. The hotel is situated in the edge of an industrial estate.

As normal for Premier Inns, room was of a good standard for a budget hotel. Two large double beds were really comfortable and we both we had a good night sleep. Tea and coffee making facilities in room and if you wanted additional supplies the receptionist was only too willing to give you what ever you required.

Only problem with the room we were allocated was that the wash basin was outside of the bathroom. Bathroom contained an excellent shower and toilet and nothing else not even a shelf.

Went to the internal restaurant for an evening meal and again the following morning for breakfast, both of which were excellent meals.

Room Tip: If you want a good nights sleep, try and get a room away from the side that faces the main road.

I've stayed in this Premier Inn a couple of times when on business, and it is the best I have stayed in. The rooms are to be expected - clean and well appointed for the money.

The staff are all really nice, and I found the restaurant excellent. Location is next to the A1, so dead easy to get to an from. Ideally placed for visiting the Metro Centre too.

Not a lot more to be said to be honest. If you're looking for an overnight in Gateshead, I can recommend this Premier Inn.

Stayed here 1 night with our 15 week old baby. We were provided with a cot, baby bath and blankets. Room was good size and clean. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Very comfy bed and a good nights sleep had by all 3 of us. We will use again next time we're staying in the area.

This is an excellent example of a Budget Hotel at its best. I didn't feel that it was budget, the price reflected a budget stay, but the service and décor, was as good as some boutique options. I will make an excuse to visit this hotel again!

Very nice welcome as usual from premier inn staff. Large, family room. Wallpaper dirty in places and shower room not up to usual standards; ceiling tiles coming away, grout dirty and loose in places. However we enjoyed the stay, slept well with no noise at all. Evening meal in restaurant was a little slow and there wasn't an awful lot go choice but no other eating places close by.

My wife and I spent two nights here and we had an absolutely fantastic time. Because it was our very first experience in Newcastle, we were nervous and not sure what to expect but from the first minute when we stepped into the lobby where the reception was, the staff were very nice and friendly towards us. This made us feel relaxed and safe. We were given clear directions to where our room was located and someone even helped us with our luggage. My wife asked for extra heating and immediately we were given a small fan heater. The room was very clean and the bedding was fresh and tidy. I like my bathroom to be impeccable and I was not in any way disappointed. Our room was overlooking the side where you can see the city at night time. It's got such an incredible view...you only need to see it to appreciate it. We haven't been to Newcastle since but surely whenever we go back there, we will always stay at this hotel. Good memories only.

Room Tip: To get a terrific view of the city, ask for the top floors.

We stayed 2 nights here and as usual in premier inns it was very good. You always get a choice of pillows which is good and helps with a good nights sleep. The food which was actually in the building was really good and very reasonably priced. The staff were all helpful and printed out a route for us and called us a taxi. A good place to stay if you want to visit Newcastle, it's only 3 miles away.
