I was in the area on business, and booked a night's accommodation at this Premier Inn. I have stayed once before, about 6 years ago. There are several nearby hotel chains nearby, but i am glad I chose this one.
I was warmly greeted by the friendly chap on reception. He told me that as it was a hot day, the curtains in my room had been drawn across, and a fan turned on in the room. Nice touch. I stay all over the country, and nearly every Premier Inn room is a clone of another, but to be honest, it serves its purpose well. A clean bathroom, with a bath (becoming a rarity these days in other hotel chains), and I love the beds that they use, and find them really comfortable for a good night's sleep. The tv had the usual channels, and £3 for 24 hour wifi doesn't break the bank.
Even though I was at the back of the hotel on the second floor, I was near to the bin storage area, which gave a bit of background noise early morning, but I did have the window open, and it was not too bad.
Breakfast was at the Taybarn restaurant next door (I use the term restaurant very loosely, but that's another story...) and was the usual breakfast buffet, but very friendly staff, and the porridge was good!More
