Our stay at this hotel was very enjoyable indeed. It is just 5 minutes off the A1 near Gateshead but with a country feel to it. The double room was of a very high standard with an excellent bathroom to match. The rooms are all in a single story building with a choice of overlooking the Team Valley (and Angel of the North) on one side or open countryside and car park on t'other. Our room was on the Team Valley side. It is very close to the A1 but the double glazing blocked out almost everything. I do not like traffic noise at all but I was not aware of it. The staff were very helpful at all times and it was surprising to enjoy the company of the owners in the bar! The breakfast was good and the restaurant seemed popular.
If you are looking for a good quality hotel near Newcastle without Hen and Stag parties, I can thoroughly recommend the Bowes Incline. Excellent value.

We stayed at the hotel for the Great North Run. Although it is further away than most hotels it proved to be very easy to get to the run from here. We just got a taxi from the hotel to Gateshead metro. It was obviously cheaper than the hotels in Newcastle and I'm glad we stayed here as the staff were lovely and the food was exceptional. The rooms were cosy and clean with everything you need for a two night stay. There are plenty of parking spaces and the area around the hotel consists of lots of green fields. The only complaint was the lack of hot water in the shower which took about 10mins to warm up then lasted for only 5mins, but maybe that was just the room we were in. Not really a hotel for a weekend break, but excellent for the run weekend.
