My boyfriend and I stayed at the Old Lifeboat station in Fowey for a week over the New Year. It was a fabulous location, right in the centre of the village overlooking the harbour so was ideal to watch the fireworks come midnight.
most of each day we were there was taken up by walking and discovering the local area. We walked the south cornwall coastal path to Polperro Looe on one day (and then bus to Looe) and to charlestown the next. another day took us up the east of river fowey to Lostwithial (via Lerryn) and the west side (saints path) on another. It is a beautiful area, full of historic old churches and marvellous countryside. Mind you those massive hedge banks make it difficult sometimes to get your bearings.
It was an ideal base and setting for a wonderful trip
