Description: The Fowey's restaurant has retained coveted 2 AA Rosette recognition for exceptional food since 1997 and an extensive wine list compliments the menu. Our dinner menu offers a choice of dishes that make use of the best Cornish and regional produce seasonally available. The variety of dishes are skilfully prepared by a very experienced brigade and led by Master Chef Mark Griffiths. The deep, rich colours and ornate features in The Fowey’s restaurant are redolent of the grand days when hotels were busy, social hubs and dining out was an occasion. Such surroundings provide an atmospheric soupcon of past times, which combined with delicious food, makes dining here a totally pleasurable experience. The hotel will gladly cater for special dietary requirements and appreciates advance notice in this respect. For those wishing to dine more informally, a comprehensive Bar menu is from midday until 9pm.

This hotel is in a stunning location with pretty terraced gardens and wonderful views over the river and sea beyond. The restaurant is elegant, and the staff friendly and capable. However .... we had Sunday lunch there today, a very disappointing experience. The food was incredibly bland, from the soup to the meats to the vegetables. It was not just a lack of basic seasoning, somehow all flavour had been leached from the food! These days it is not enough to be just a competent cook, you have to love cooking, to have a passion about ingredients and flavours, and I do not believe this kitchen has that. If you just want quantity and a big plate of "food" to fill you up, then this is fine, but if you are a discernig diner, I would suggest you go to Sam's or Q instead. I would like to add that Blaine was very professional, and very understanding, and we were happy with the solution offered. However, we will not be eating here again.

We stayed in March on a special offer which included breakfast and dinner.
The food, service and presentation was excellent. The view from the restaurant is bewitching, always something to see.
The staff are always helpful and attentive.
Breakfast was very good,a relaxed atmosphere and good choice of cooked options.
You will need a good walk afterwards![perhaps to the carpark if you were unlucky to get a space outside]
We will be back next year.

wonderful food, well served. staff very attentive but not intrusive. the only drawback is the car parking. Necessary to book or you have to park "up the top".

The choice of food is excellent and well presented and well served by the waiting staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The tables are well spaced so you don't overlook another table which is good
Try the Strawberries and Cream Ice Cream for 'pud' and ask for some clotted cream to be served with it. A perfect end to a wonderful dinner!
Coffe and 'goodies' served in the lounge afterwards - superb!
