Only stayed for the one night whilst attending a wedding locally. Had a very warm welcome from hosts Tim & Paula, not forgetting Frank as well !!
Stayed in the Tudor room, lived up to its name, very quirky & the 4-Poster made it.
Very clean & tidy & the breakfast was excellent, could not fault the service & friendliness.
Would definitely recommend highly !!

I stayed at the Well House with my father in April for 4 days. We loved it! It's in the oldest building in Fowey, over a tea shop. Both are run by a lovely couple who left their professional jobs to follow their dream and open this place. Tim and Paula (and their black lab Frank) were lovely hosts. They were warm and friendly, but not intrusive at all. They lent us a map and gave us restaurant and walking suggestions. Fresh fruit, delicious yogurt and cereal were available to accompany the traditional cooked English Breakfast (their sausages are excellent!). The Well House is on the main street of Fowey, with other shops and restaurants. It's a great location right in the middle of everything, but it was still quiet when we were there. I could hear people out in the street walking by at night, but the town quiets down quite early, so nothing kept me up. If you are interested in history or old buildings, or just old-world charm and hospitality, this is a great place to stay. I would definitely return.

Room Tip: I stayed in the Tudor Room, which was beautiful and charming. It has a giant hearth and a 4 poster bed and antique furniture. The toilet and shower rooms are separate, and requires one step up from the floor of the bedroom. The bath facilities are adequate and clean, but not luxury. Wifi is spotty in this room, but the owners offered me access to their lounge if I needed it. I just stepped out onto the landing when I needed to download and that worked for me. My father stayed in the white room upstairs, which was more modern and had good wifi access. It was also probably quieter, in terms of street sounds.

We visited The well house for lunch one day whilst on holiday in the area. We were welcomed in by staff and they were very accommodating in finding us a table with plenty of room for our 2 young daughters. The menu was great had lots of choice for all tastes.
Our oldest daughter loved the 'hunt the chicks' Easter competition and was very pleased to receive a chocolate bunny for finding them all!
Frank the Dog was delightful and very amusing with his love for napkins!!
Owners friendly, welcoming and helpful and the building is quirky and full of character. Would highly recommend this to everyone visiting Fowey.

Thank you very much for your kind comments about our Tea Room and our menu. Our Hunt the Chick competition proved very popular for the whole holiday period and we managed to give away over 90 chocolate bunny prizes.

We went into the Well House for a snack and a drink in the afternoon. The cream tea was gorgeous and great value for money....Americano coffee was lovely too for the lactose intolerant amongst us and the youngest one of us enjoyed the hot chocolate. Very quirky building as you would expect from one as old as this - love how the wallpaper has been stapled to the ceiling!! Frank, the dog was friendly but left us alone - we thought it was slightly strange having a dog wandering around a cafe, never experienced it before but it wasn't a problem for us.

Popped in today for a coffee, the guy who runs it was really helpful in finding a table for us with a buggy, and ok with having a child. Seems to be a pretty accomodating place - dogs, and buggies both ok , despite narrow spaces between tables. Recently got a loo - despite being Grade 2 listed. Standard luncheon / drinks - all day brekkie pretty average (but large bacon pieces) though. Would do a return visit for a standard scone and cream / jam.
