We've just returned from 3 nights at Fowey Hall and are already planning our next trip back. We travelled with our 18month old girl and really has been our best experience as a family and definitely beats anywhere we stayed as a couple!

It's the most parent friendly hotel ever.. some things to mention

Staff
> Nothing is too much trouble, everybody we encountered was super lovely and were accommodating to every request.

Food
> Great spread for breakfast and you could order anything off the hot menu. No issues with messy toddlers!
> Lovely dinners and the special menus help to give variety every night
> Great wine list & local selections.
> Kids tea is a brilliant idea!

Creche
> The team that run the creche are fantastic. Not for one minute did we doubt their ability to care for our child. Special mentions to Emma & Dayle

Rooms
> Spotless, cosy and everything provided you could possibly need

The overall feel is definitely like staying at a friends country house.. you're always made to feel really welcome with absolute no stuffiness. Although its baby & family friendly, it still feels very much like an adults retreat.

It's a little expensive but you get what you pay for and overall great value.

Room Tip: we stayed in hoskins which was huge, a bedroom, a small annexe to fit the cot in, a seperate sitting...

We had a one night stay at the Fowey Hotel and wished it was longer. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was warm and comfortable, with views over the river. The food was excellent. Both the evening dinner and the breakfast had a good choice of locally produced well cooked food. We enjoyed a swim in the pool and used the jacuzzi in the moonlight overlooking the twinkling lights. We enjoyed the log fires in the comfortable sitting rooms and even a game of table tennis and Scrabble before a quiet nights sleep. We were sorry to leave.

Just arrived home after staying here for two nights after finding a deal with travelzoo - we were so pleased to find this one - the staff we're so friendly and attentive - nothing was too much trouble for them and made our stay one we will never forget - the specials menu in the evening was first class, the chef's specialities were seriously so good - Ben and the restaurant staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them
The reception staff were very welcoming and also informative and the rooms were spotless -
will we tell friends and family what a marvellous place to stay?- well we are already doing so - so well done all - this is the first time I have really wanted to write something about where we have stayed
Thank you for making this weekend so very special :)

This place is wonderful. Never have I been more impressed by the quality of service than I was here. The staff ALWAYS had a smile on their faces and a courteous greeting that never seemed false but was always genuine.
The rooms were always accessible for a disabled guest and were spacious beyond belief. Our room overlooked the town and river, giving us a wonderful view The bathroom alone was bigger than many rooms I have stayed in and was beautifully laid out with an air of elegant extravagance, high-lighted by a huge bath and a massive separate shower cubicle which was easily accessed by a disabled guest. Our room was wonderfully uncluttered but thoughtfully decorated and furnished.
If all this were not enough, the food was to die for. We had an amazing three course dinner. I chose the venison steak which was like cutting into butter and my husband had some delicious beef. Food allergy sufferers will find a haven here. Nothing was too much trouble and I never once felt that I was a problem to the staff. They all did their utmost to put me at my ease about my difficult dietary needs.
To my absolute amazement, breakfast was every bit as good as dinner. I have never been to a hotel before that gave me such a choice of food for breakfast. They even had gluten-free sausages. Well done everyone!
By the way, I loved the idea of being able to take the hotel's dog for a walk, not that I could, but many guests of all ages did and enjoyed it. I also liked the idea of having two dining rooms, one for families and the other one child-free and quiet and the idea of giving rooms names rather than numbers.
The pool is accessible to the disabled (so many are not) and I loved the outdoor Jacuzzi too.
Thank you all for a wonderful stay. I have already booked my next visit and will see you again in a couple of months.

Room Tip: Ground floor , east facing

Have just returned from a 2 night break and it was one of the best 2 night breaks we have ever had. The warm welcome is obvious from when you step through the front door. . . . . log fires, welcoming staff and a beautiful room.
The choice and standard of the food was wonderful.
It was so lovely to see how children were welcomed and all the lovely things for them to do.
Would love to go back soon.

Just returned from a couple of days at this wonderful hotel. It's our third stay, (though we have also called in for that 'Truly Scrumptious' afternoon tea reviewed elsewhere by Cathy B, and agree with all she says!)
We took my 80 odd and 90 odd year old mother and in-laws on this occasion in the certain knowledge the lovely young staff would do all they could to help make everyone's stay enjoyable, and of course we were not disappointed. So, when considering a 'family hotel', be assured Fowey Hall isn't just great for young families ( it is !), because we older couples with octogenarian parents can enjoy it just as much.
Don't forget the Fowey Town bus departs from the car-park alongside the hotel so is ideal for families of any age wanting to go up and down the steep hill into the delightful town. Another 'well done' and sincere thanks to all at Fowey Hall.

Room Tip: Try asking for a room with sea views.
