We were in Fowey in August ( me and my husband) , we spent in Old Quay House 3 nights in room 12 with view , wonderful nights and days as well . I love design of hotel, and everything is simple & clean. We had dinner 2 times , brilliant service and lovely food . We noticed that service is multicultural, we met fantastic girls from Poland ( our neighbours because we are from Germany) , especially blond girl called Angie . Restaurant menager is a very nice man.
Delightful stay and we would recommend to anyone.
Hope to see you again.
Couple from Germany .

We stayed in Fowey five or six years ago and did eat in The Old Quay restaurant one evening. The experience was not overly memorable but sufficiently so that we decided to make this the first part of this year's two centre break in Cornwall. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing two night stay, aided by parking the car on arrival and deciding not to move it until loading the luggage on our departure.

We had the penthouse suite. It is expensive but being able to view the ever-changing river scene is something I am happy to pay for when on holiday. We too experienced wi-fi problems, which were sorted when reported, although the shower head had symptoms similar to brewers' droop. Yes the bed is essentially on a raised floor, but was very comfortable and posed no problems for us pensioners. Anyone complaining about the Church Clock striking softly throughout the night really does not deserve to have holidays in England.

We enjoyed the food during our recent stay. I was unsure whether to eat in both nights but made the reservations when we booked and was not disappointed I had done so. In any case, I believe some of the alternative eating houses are not open on Sunday and Monday evenings when into September. The only disappointment was that the weather was not good enough to dine on the terrace in the evening but then we rarely have the opportunity to do so anywhere.

Fowey today rather reminds us of Salcombe thirty years or so ago before most of the shops became designer this or that. The recession has taken its toll but there were signs of economic revival which will hopefully lead to an enhancement of the town's attractions. We did take a trip on the Town Tour and were indeed surprised at the parts of Fowey we would have failed to see otherwise. Also the small museum is well a visit to recall how the town has developed over the years.

A very pleasant stay. We hope to be back in a couple of years.

Arrived really early but Anthony was great and got our penthouse ready really quickly.
We loved the location the staff were mainly brilliant (esp the girls).
The view from the Penthouse was superb, and the hotel ambience was perfect.
I will get the criticism out of the way because it didn't really detract from our experience.
The shower pressure was low and it felt like you had to run around to get wet, needs a power shower...
The wifi was not good in the hotel and reception was poor and Cornwall does not seem to warrant 3G in too many places. This may have been due to us being on the top floor, but is was annoyingly slow.
Positives however far out way these negatives. Anthony and his staff are really top class and very attentive.
The room at the top was very modern and spacious with beautiful views.
Anthony advised us of some local attractions incl the Hall Walk which us oldies really enjoyed. It's a great vase to visit Eden Project from (approx 20 mins)
We ate in the Restaraunt on 2 of our 3 nights plus one lunch. The food was very good including a delicious plaice and I had a marvellous risotto. Breakfast were top notch must have the "works" in the full Cornish... Yum yum.
Will definitely return...

I keep coming back to the Old Quay House because it is such a special hotel in such a special place. I returned to Fowey to go to a special friend's party and booked into the Old Quay House. As with my previous visits the staff were friendly and efficient. My room had the most wonderful views over the Fowey River. I love the detail they specialise in, the way the towels are hung is different from any other hotel I have stayed in and when I leave they give me the most delicious bar of chocolate and remember that I live white chocolate. All in all, it is a five star experience every time - and I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world.

Room Tip: Try and get a room with the view of the River Fowey because it is such a beautiful view.

We enjoyed a 3 day stay here for my wife's birthday. We stayed in room 6 which has a great view of the constantly changing harbour scenery. The staff were all really helpful and friendly. We ate twice in the restaurant which is of a very high standard. Breakfast was very comprehensive. There are very few hotels in Fowey so prices are at a premium but well worth the money for something special.

My wife and I came for our 10th wedding anniversary and the staff were brilliant and had organised flowers and champagne as I and some of our friends had requested. The room we stayed in was the Penthouse suite and the view out of the estuary was fantastic. The bed on the floor was absolutely fine and really comfortable. the room is really relaxing and the big lounge area was perfect for the rather erratic weather we had. The restaurant was nice and the food was excellent, though the menu was a little idiosyncratic. We went down a little late and they has sold out of some of the more "ordinary" options. We struggled a little on starters and just had main course and dessert in the end but the food when it came was amazing.

Great staff who go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfasts are worth getting out of bed for and the restaurant is a must for at least 1 night during your stay. The restaurant is very popular so I would recommend booking a table in advance of your arrival .

Room Tip: We had a room on the roadside which was fine on the Friday night but Saturday was a bit noisy on the...
