Three of us visited the Lough Erne Resort for food in the Blaney Bar. We ordered a Fish with Handcut Chips, Glam Burger with fries and a Blade of Beef. The fish and chips: good portion of fish goujons, beautiful chips however only 6 of them. Potatoes must be very expensive in Enniskillen. Burger and fries: Burgers very good, along with 6 frozen fries. The smallest portion of fries i have ever seen. We asked our waiter for extra fries, we got them however they were added to the bill at a cost of £2.95. Blade of beef: was beautiful, came with mash however at £15 you would expect some vegetables. On receiving our bill, we discovered we were being charged 10% service charge, this was not highlighted on the Bar menu. I would think very hard about going out here again for a meal.

Dear amp777,
Thank you for taking time to post your review of your recent visit to the Blaney Bar .'Good tasty food' are pleasing comments to receive.Your choices of fish and chips, blade of beef and glam burgers are certainly the most popular dishes on the menu.I am disappointed to read that you thought the portions were small and over priced as the Blaney Bar menu is very popular with locals and visitotrs alike.
kind regards
JOHN

Recently met up with friends for afternoon tea and a drink. The food was average and the service was not that of a 5* hotel with 5* prices. Two young male waiters who served drinks were very poor. Brandy served in a tumbler and when asked for a brandy glass we were told...'I'll have to wash one'!!! There were about 20 people in the front bar and I guess they were not all drinking brandy!!We are local people and were truly embarassed. Wake up Fermanagh....

Booked a 2 night stay for my birthday on 11th February. Dined in the Catalina restaurant on our first night being my birthday and was delighted to find a dedicated vegetarian menu. On our second night we opted to eat from the bar menu only to find no vegetarian main choices. Many thanks to the waiter for alerting Chef Noel who came to our table to enquire about my preferences. He came up with a simple but delicious starter - with his compliments, followed by a tasty and fresh main course. Was unable to thank Noel personally as it was busy so am posting this review as I sit in front of the log fire in the foyer. The thought, effort and personal touch are all very much appreciated.

We stayed here on the 24th of January and it was absolutely amazing. On arrival, staff were ever so helpful. We stayed in the lake view suite which had our own private balcony overlooking the golf course and beautiful lake. It was a pity about the weather as it rained constantly not making much room to enjoy the out doors. On the upside it meant I didn't have far to walk for a smoke having the outdoors near hand. Our room was so spacious with all the essentials in place. We were even welcomed by a beautiful bouquet of flowers along with a delicious fruit basket. We opted to eat in the bar as it was more relaxed than an evening of fine dining. The glamour burgers were surprisingly filling for the size of them, and the chocolate fondue was amazing. The staff were very accommodating during dinner and also at breakfast the next morning. The spa is so relaxing and while I tried a facial the other half made use of the pool facilities. The only downfall was the shower appeared to be stuck at quite a cold temperature, which we could not change. After having to opt for a bath, I cut my foot on the railing which appeared to have been previously broken and not fixed. We informed reception and I have to admit they were very apologetic and sympathetic of this. All in all it was a luxurious experience, obviously rather costly but quality is everything. I look forward to my next visit to Lough Erne.

My wife and I stayed for the weekend to celebrate my 40th birthday. From the minute we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The service was second to none, with professional and attentive staff who couldn't do enough for you. We stayed in a lake view room which provided great views of the 18th green, Reeds Bridge to the 1st Tee and the picturesque lake. The room was beautifully decorated, spacious with everything you could need.

We dined in both the Loughside Bar and Grill and the Blaney Bar. They were both very good and reasonably priced. We also had afternoon tea which was an experience not to be missed.

I played golf on the Sunday morning before we left and despite a lot of rainfall that week the course was in great condition. My wife had a treatment in the Thai Spa which she thoroughly enjoyed.

I cannot thank the staff enough for helping to make the weekend very special. With special thanks to Patsy (Concierge), Una (High Tea) and Nicola (Breakfast). We can't wait to come back again.

We stayed here for 1 night & from the moment we arrived we were welcomed with warm smiles from the fantastic staff. Special mention to Matthew on reception for his great customer service! We had a room overlooking the lake. The room was beautiful & spacious with a big bathroom complete with roll top bath. Our room was lovely & quiet perfect for relaxing. The only criticism of the room would be that it was far too warm & there didn't seem to be any way of adjusting the temperature. The pool & spa are well worth a visit. We ate in The Blarney Bar & the food was delicious although the portions are rather small so you may need a couple of courses. We had the best pint of Guinness we have had in a long time, perfectly poured. Again the staff in the bar are fantastic. Breakfast has plenty of choice & was really lovely with no having to ask staff over & over again for tea & toast unlike at some hotels.
The Lough Erne Resort is a true 5 star experience & we can't wait to go back!
