We were taken by old friends for lunch when we visited them in Staines. It was a Saturday and we were entertained to a buffet lunch the likes of which we have never seen before! There was a magnificent spread of hot and cold dishes, plus a starter choice of equal varieties, and desserts that made the mouth water. We were encouraged to eat until we could go no further! All of this at a very reasonable price. No wonder our friends booked an early table as the restaurant fill up very quickly! Congratulations to the staff who were excellent. As we left, walking with difficulty, we noticed that we had forgotten to try the soup!

Thank you so much for your review of the runnymede and your lunch with us. I am so pleased that your friends brought you to the runnymede as it is good to know that the local community support us and like to visit the hotel.
I am glad that the buffet offering in Leftbank was like nothing you had seen before and you enjoyed the many different dishes on offer.
I have passed on your feedback to the team as it is always nice to know that their efforts are appreciated.
We look forward to your next visit.
Kind regards

Had dinner here during Ascot week so it was busy. I met my companion in the lounge for a bottle of champagne before dinner but had to wait unacceptably long for service. Eventually I had to call a waiter over and only then were we able to order. When we made our way to the table a waiter took our champagne into the restaurant and arranged for the bar bill to be transferred to the restaurant. Service in the restaurant was very good as was the food. I had a pleasant risotto to start followed by very nicely cooked lamb. We wanted to adjourn to the lounge for coffee but ran into difficulties when the waitress insisted we had to pay the bill first and order coffees in the bar because it was not possible to transfer the bill notwithstanding that this is precisely what happened earlier! This to me is indicative of a lack of proper staff training. In all good hotels coffee is served in the comfort of the lounge after dinner, if required and the final bill is signed for there at the end. I am sure that this is probably true of the Runnymede but not according to this waitress.

Thank you for your lovely review of the runnymede-on-thames and I am glad that you enjoyed your meal in the Leftbank choosing the risotto and the Lamb. I have passed your kind comments about the food on to the Kitchen brigade as it is always nice to receive positive feedback on the dishes they produce.
I am, however, sorry that the service you received was not to our usual high standard. I have spoken to the Lounge and Leftbank Managers to ensure that the new team members are aware that we can transfer bills between the outlets.
The delay in ordering your drinks is not acceptable or our usual standard and I am sorry you experienced this delay and hope that the service element of your visit has not deterred you from returning in the future.
Kind regards

We had business away day here for 1 day. The Runnymede certainly know what they are doing, the facilities are top class, service was great and incredibly well organised.
drinks/Snacks and Meals all served on time and professionally. Breakout area was always topped up and nothing was too much trouble. Great place to host events/meetings

We have frequented this hotel over the last 20 years and have to say it gets better and better. We have recently returned from staying the week of Royal Ascot and have to say the hotel made this week one of the best we have had. The hotel is clean and all the staff can’t do enough for you. Special mention to Craig Spencer and the reception team for going the extra mile to make everything that little bit special. The rooms are always clean and the staff working in housekeeping really seem to enjoy what they are doing and this shows. Food, Drinks and ambiance just puts the sparkle into an already amazing place.

Room Tip: All rooms offer something different. River facing rooms make waking up in the morning slightly easie...

Beautiful hotel, restaurant, location on the Thames. Close to Windsor. We used this as our base for Royal Ascot, with friends. Very handy. The man in Concierge was excellent and arranged cars for us. Breakfast buffet very good. Very Nice common areas ie foyer, lobby, inside and outside seated areas. Great walk along river - maybe half hour- down to signing of Magna Carta monument. Arranged a boat cruise on the Thames from Windsor to Maidenhead with Fringilla on Larus, with picnic arranged by the hotel - delightful. Very relaxing and a great memory.

Room Tip: It was high season and we had just stayed somewhere else pretty special. They have rooms with views...

Came here with some girlfriends during the golf at Wentworth end May. When we first called the hotel they were fully booked in the Leftbank Restaurant but as we were going there for drinks in the bar we asked again and around 8.30pm on a Sat night they fitted us in. Very upmarket buffet style. Good service. Excellent selection of food - and it really was fill your boots stuff! Delicious. Something here for everybody. Price £28.00 approx for 1 person. Drinks and coffee extra. Great buzz to the place as the hotel had some famous golfers staying. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and ate and drank far too much. Am sure we will be back next year!

We stayed here as a family on a Legoland visit a couple of years ago and our son (aged 8 at the time) declared the Runnymede his favourite hotel in the whole world so we just had to come back for his 10th birthday this year. On this trip our rooms were inter-connecting deluxe rooms with a river view so we had more space and the sound of the river to lull us to sleep with the window open. Great little fridge/minibar with worktop surface above for kettle and glass shelves above that with glasses, mugs, tea, milk etc. Really comfortable bed and everything very clean (we have dust/pollen allergies so important for us). Buffet breakfast and evening meal offer excellent choice and quality and no waste with children. A highlight was the late-afternoon dip in the large outdoor pool upon our return from Legoland. Excellent hotel for families but still manages to be glamorous enough for grown-ups with spa, drinks on the terrace overlooking the Thames etc. Genuinely relaxing atmosphere in a busy part of the world (close to Windsor, M25 and Heathrow).

Room Tip: We liked our rooms 108/110 (interconnecting deluxe twin and double with river view)
