We were fortunate to turn up on the weekend when Darby's was holding as beer festival. A splendid selection of real ales, including several from Adnam's. Food is good too. Service was polite and helpful - we weren't rushed to choose a beer but were advised about the different flavours. The beer festival included bands in the adjacent field which was a bonus as the weather had improved on the Sunday. The building itself is old and interesting. Definitely a pub to revisit.

Homely pub in the centre of the village, good pub grub, excellent beer and very friendly! The beef and ale pie was delicious, the burger I had was very filling but as always we would like to look at the dessert menu and guess what minutes later we were tucking into the white chocolate cheesecake with a raspberry jus, delicious ice cream and a homemade wafer, well it would be rude not to! On Sunday evening we made a return visit and in spite to the fact that it was gone serving time the chef knocked up a very commendable chilli! Enjoy!

We dined here with friends after a superb walk in the Swanton Morley area. I had the burger and the other three people had two pies of the day ( steak and ale) and a fish and chips. My burger meal was an absolute tower and extremely good. All the meals were very good with no issues. Meals we considered a little on the expensive side and the service a little slow . Service was good and friendly. We ate Friday lunchtime after 0130pm.

I can't comment on the food but, as a pub exists to sell beer (in my opinion) I will comment on that. In short, it's very good. There is an excellent selection. They sell Adnams (best beer in the world) which is kept very well. The pub itself is very 'spit and sawdust' with a huge fireplace, lots of exposed brick and wood. There's a relaxed atmosphere where children and dogs are welcome. There were three dogs in the bar when we visited which might not be a positive for some but, for me it added to the welcoming feel.
