Owner description: Housed in a beautiful timber-framed, reed-thatched early C16th cottage, with colourful pargetting. It is the oldest domestic building in the market town of Dereham. It houses displays of Dereham's local history and the archaeology of the surrounding area, in the Breckland region of central Norfolk. The Museum was founded, and is still run, by volunteer members of the Dereham Antiquarian Society. We are open on Sat May 6th to 31st September 2017. Tue & Thurs - 1.30pm - 4pm Sat - 1.30pm - 4pm Entrance Fees 2016 Adult £2 Child 0 to 16 free with accompanying adult Group visits by appointment

If visiting the Dereham area do not miss a visit to this gem of a museum. Truly unique. The hours that it is open are a little limited so do check before you visit, but very well worth a visit. There is a lot of local history which is well displayed in a unique cottage from the 1500's.
