Reviewed 21 June 2014

I attended the dinner for the opening of the Droitwich food festival and although badly let down by builders who failed to complete the new Orangery the owners, management and staff managed to feed all 152 guests although a little cramped the staff did a wonderful job of service and looking after us all.

Now the food. This was the menu:

Welcome drink of ‘Hix Fix’ or HPA
❅❅❅❅
Evesham asparagus 3 ways:
Steamed with butter
Shaved asparagus salad with cheese and land cress
Scrumpy-fried asparagus herb mayonnaise
❅❅❅❅
De Beauvoir smoked salmon ‘Hix cure’ and Severn and Wye
smoked eel with new potatoes and horseradish salad
❅❅❅❅
Neck and rack of Pershore lamb with spring vegetables and ramson sauce
❅❅❅❅
Perry jelly with summer fruits and elderflower ice cream
❅❅❅❅
Local cheeses with Ombersley rhubarb membrillo
❅❅❅❅
Tea or coffee with ‘friandises’

This was without doubt the best meal I've ever had when at a function like this and a large group and certainly was of the standard one would expect at a Michelin star establishment.

I'm returning very soon for dinner to further sample very high quality food prepared perfectly and very efficient friendly service and very good surroundings.

If you are planning a function or a wedding go to the St. Andrews Town hotel and see what they have and can do for you. You will be delighted with the outcome.

Room Tip: I'm told room 3 overlooking the garden is very good.

Thankyou very much for your kind comments regarding the Celebration dinner we held for the Droitwich Food Festival. As you mentioned, there were a few challenges regarding getting the building work finished, but we're glad that you enjoyed the evening so much. We're really proud of our team of chefs, lead by our head chef Nigel Cooke, and we're glad that you were so impressed by the food. The waiting staff also did a fantastic job.

We look forward to welcoming you back! And hope you will enjoy the chance to have a look at our new Orangery which is now finished and being well used.

Best wishes

Lovely helpful staff. Rooms very clean, food excellent. Parking in front of hotel. One gripe - walls thin and doors bang shut. We would recommend. If you want a quieter stay, perhaps don't stay on a Saturday when there may be parties or large groups of people.

Thankyou very much for your review. We're glad our staff looked after you well, and that you particularly enjoyed the food. We're sorry that your room was a little noisy. We are looking into ways to better soundproof our newer rooms. But glad it didn't spoil your stay.

We booked this hotel at short notice with a fabulous result.
The hotel is recently renovated to a high standard, and is staffed by professional and attentive staff.
With the completion of the arboretum shortly it will be superb.

Thankyou for your kind words. We're glad you enjoyed your stay, and that our staff looked after you well. We've been busy over the past year renovating the hotel, and are glad that you liked the finished result! Hopefully you will come back and see our Orangery which will be finished in a couple of weeks time. It will seat up to 150 people and should be a great venue for weddings, special occasion meals and meetings.

As previous reviewers have indicated, this very tastefully redecorated hotel was a delight to stay in. I understand credit for much, if not all the decor rests with one of the part owners. An outstanding, well thought out and considered refurbishment, congratulations, the detail and complexity must have been a challenge. While the outside of the Hotel is not quite finished, the inside of the hotel looks a picture.

We also found the staff very accommodating and friendly. The meal we had that evening was just superb. Our room was located on the 1st floor and was very quiet and peaceful. Quite spacious, particularly the bathroom. Quite unusual for a hotel. While the location is not as well known as other nearby cities, you are still only 35 to 40 minutes away from most of the places of interest. A real little gem.

Room Tip: 1st floor overlooking either the front or rear gardens

Thankyou so much for your kind comments. It has been a busy year or so refurbishing the hotel, and we're glad you appreciated the results so much. The last part of the project is our Orangery, which will seat up to 150, and should be finished in the next couple of weeks. We hope you'll be able to come back and enjoy that too!
We're pleased you found us a great location to explore the local area, and that you enjoyed your meal and the peaceful room.
We hope we can welcome you back again soon

I recently organised a Lions Club dinner for 50 here and can only sing the praises of the staff and the venue. St Andrew's has been beautifully redecorated in recent time and is currently building an Orangery for wedding events. Our event was a meal and disco. The food was excellent and the service matched it. The staff were friendly and all the people I spoke to said they enjoyed the evening. I am pretty certain we will be having our club's Christmas meal here too. Living in Droitwich I haven't stayed here but I would imagine it would be an excellent place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a visitor

One night stay for a friends wedding in May 2014. Spacious, well appointed, refurbished room. Excellent breakfast. Apparently friends said that the restaurant is very good as well. Staff were very friendly and generally very efficient just a little hiccup in arrival. All in all I would recommend this as a very reasonably priced hotel. Just one gripe it was a cool May day and there was no heating on and unfortunately the room was cold.
