“Annual family reunion”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2013

We have a family reunion every year here and we have been to the Lambsquay Hotel since 1996 every September.Mike and Lesley ,the owners, are always wonderful hosts where nothing is too much trouble. Some of our party stay overnight and enjoy this quiet and comfortable country house in its lovely woodland setting. It is such a good base for exploring the Forest with Clearwell Caves and Puzzle Wood tourist sites close by.We are already looking forward to next year when we can enjoy an excellent luncheon in the Victorian dining room and afterwards relax in the lounge with a coffee .

Room Tip: The rooms overlooking the drive have lovely views over the fields and woods.

Very friendly and helpful people. A very pleasant stay here for one night. Great location for cycling in the Forest of Dean etc. lovely breakfast, home grown good etc. didn't have dinner in the evening but smelled great. Only slight negative was the shower was very weak water pressure, but a highly recommended b & b!

Stayed here for four nights July 2013. Booked two rooms to accommodate our family party of four. Were given rooms 3 and 4 which have an interconnecting door which was really good for us. Mike and Lesley were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was very nice including home grown produce every day. Hotel was in a great location for accessing the attractions of the Forest that we'd gone to enjoy. Puzzlewood and Clearwell caves are both on the doorstep and well worth visiting. Overall very good value for money.

We spent 4 nights at Lambsquay over last weekend and were impressed by Mike and Lesley's friendliness and proffessionalism.

We stayed in room 2, a large light room which had a double and a single bed both of which were very comfortable. The room was very well equipped and was spotlessly clean.

Lesley's delicious evening meals using homegrown vegetables are served in the very pleasant dining room which overlooks their pretty garden. The satisfying breakfasts are served here too, while we stayed we were lucky enough to have strawberries from the garden every day.

Retiring to the lounge bar for a drink in the evening was a relaxing routine, chatting with other guests and with Mike, the most genial of hosts.

In summary, the hotel is well located, comfortable, welcoming and excellent value for money. We really cannot fault it and will certainly be visiting again.

Room Tip: Room 2 was sunny and first class for us.

My wife and I have just spent a couple of days at the Lambsquay 11th to 13th July exploring the area and forest, there is so much to see and do we loved every minute. The Hotel was very welcoming and gave a good relaxing vibe, the owners Mike and Lesley could not do any more to make you feel welcome Lesley's home cooking was excellent her own vegetable garden supplied most of the veg, the rooms are comfortable and well equipped with tea coffee and a TV. the Hotel has a very nice informal bar and lounge Mikes knowledge of the surrounding area was also very use full when deciding where to visit, we hope to return soon.

Room Tip: All rooms are away from the road and quite

We stayed in June 2013 in the Lambsquay House Hotel.

We felt very welcome and loved Lesley's cooking. We had a nice room and we loved what we as Dutch call " the English style" of the hotel.

The surroundings were beautiful, we cycled in the Forrest of dean and walked to the clearwell caves and the secret forrest (Just a 5 minute walk).

I have been at the hotel regularly for the last five years, more recently for a week three times a year. The food is excellent, the bed very comfortable and I am well looked after. It is very restful, just what I need to recuperate from being a full time carer for my wife.
