The Montague has a nice homey feel, and is located not far from the many excellent cycling paths in the Forest. We had dinner in the restaurant, stayed overnight, and had breakfast the next morning. The food was all good, with several vegetarian options as well as good meat. You are given a long list on the night before of standard breakfast items to choose from, and you can have as few or as many as you would like.
The owner is very kind; we cycled to the Inn, and he let us keep our bikes in his garage overnight. He gave us directions to cycling trails and other areas of interest in the vicinity. We arrived early in the afternoon, and he let us drop our packs in the room and have tea to revive a bit. He made sure to come around to each table of diners in the restaurant and have a chat, as well as being generally very attentive regarding both our food and our room.
The room was comfortable and very clean, and we slept soundly (disclaimer: we think the bed was quite comfortable, but we were also completely knackered from cycling and would likely have slept okay on a sufficiently soft floor). The room was well stocked with tea/coffee and a couple biscuits, and the bathroom was well stocked with toiletries.
We had a very pleasant stay, and will likely be back!
