An excellent short break courtesy of Times+ reduced price offer with 2 nights B&B at £175 (but not sea view room). The Jetty restaurant is delightfulas is the setting. I'd stay here again but would be deterred by listed prices. As often is the case British hotels overcharge compared to comparable hotels oon mainland Europe.

I booked this hotel to be close to the place I was working while in Christchurch and was not sure what it would be like, however I was plesantly surprised.
The reception is quite informal yet the duty manager was very efficient and my room was allocated to me in a matter of minutes - parking was available just outside the door and I was advised that if there was no room for my car when I came back from town I could leave the keys with them and they would look after it for me.
The room was quite spacious and the bathroom well appointed with quality soap and shampoo.
The dinning room was a quality resteraunt (and not cheap). The food was of very high quality and well worth what I paid for it - if you dont want to spend the £35 per person for a 3 course meal there is always the pub just down the road.
The view from the balcony outside the resteraunt is great. It looks over the waterway and has swans swiming up to the dock - sunset across to the houses on the other side is truely beautiful.
All up it was a great place to stay and if you want to access the spa facilities these dont seem to be too badly priced (I did not use them so canot coment on the quality, however from the outside it looked a pretty professional spa facility)
The only hassle I had was that the internet access had some issues, however the duty manager let me use a spare computer in the reception area so no problem there.
The staff were all great and went out of their way to provide a good service

The location is great; room clean and comfortable (didn't watch it but tv seemed small for size of room); spa and pool lovely; reception staff in hotel and spa were friendly, polite and helpful; food was acceptable but have had much better, especially for vegetarians.

And then we come to the service - this was extremely disappointing, particularly for breakfasts. Staff seemed to be on auto pilot with no real enthusiasm for what they were doing. Nobody seemed to be properly in charge and taking control. We noticed several people as well as ourselves having to wait a very long time for tea and coffee orders and even longer for cooked breakfast. My partner had to chase his up after about 25 minutes and when it eventually arrived it was tepid so had obviously been left on a counter somewhere. The tables are also very closely packed which made the restaurant feel more cafeteria than 4 star hotel. If the service issue is addressed this could be a very pleasant hotel but based on this experience there are much better hotels available throughout the south west for the same money.

A well appointed hotel in a great location looking across to the beach huts at Mudeford. The restaurants were fine - although not the best we have experienced at this price level. Service was OK. The spa and treatments were great.

However, when paying £195 per night for room and breakfast, we expect everything to be top notch. The lighting in the bathroom never seemed to work properly despite being told that the electrian would take a look at it. The power saving lighting was so dim that shaving or putting on make-up was largely a matter of guesswork. There was no air conditioning in the room and the first night was interrupted as the method of having the patio doors slightly open but still secure had not been explained. We had been expecting to have the facilities to get onto the internet but this seems to only be available if you bring your own machine - the Duty Manager informed us that any terminal previously available to guests has now been re-designated to be used by the hotel office staff.

A bit of a shame that they fell down on some of these details, leaving us feeling that we will probably not be rushing back to this hotel.

This hotel was chosen by my daughter and her husband for their wedding venue. It sounded and looked very good on their website so we booked a double garden room with a harbour view'. My parent's and other family members also had room's here. The rooms were small and very dark and the harbour view was blocked by The Jetty restaurant and a huge tree. The bathroom in my parent's room smelt of stale urine as soon as they entered their room and the stench was there for the duration of their stay.
The light's in the room could only be switched off by removing the card from the holder by the door, you could not choose to leave a light on for the night to see your way to the bathroom it was all on or none on. Breakfast the first morning I had to send the milk back as it was full of black bit's, The coffee I ordered took an age to come and it was stewed and cold. The bacon my parent's had was so hard it was inedible I think they must cook it the night before and leave it in a warming oven till needed. The second morning it was worse the cereal bowls were dirty and none of the waiting staff seemed to notice, we asked for some milk for the tea and coffe and it never came eventually we got our own. The toast came but there was no butter so we asked for some, the waiter never apologised and it was almost thrown onto the table, what there was of it!!.
The wedding breakfast main course and dessert were truly appalling, the blade of beef was dry, stringy and tough and the knives we were given did'nt stand a chance of cutting it. This was served with four marble sized potatoes and hard split peas, the meal was also cold. There was supposed to be two sauces with the chocolate brownie but they were dried up on the plate. The waiting staff are not tuned in or switched on and need some customer service training and Lord only know's what is going on in the kitchen. This is not a cheap hotel and we expected it to be a much better standard than it is. There are cheaper and much better hotels in the area and my family and I would never stay here again. The last straw was after we got home only to realise we had been charged twice for our stay, we rang the hotel and a feeble apology was made. They could not return the money immediately as it was a bank holiday!!!. Being charged once in my opinion was once too often. This hotel really need's to pull it's sock's up and I wish I had read the reviews before booking.
