We chose this hotel as it is central to all our widespread family and with interesting places to visit within walking distance. Fabulous venue, everyone was well impressed with the excellent service (particularly Neil the mngr who kept me back a plate of food when I was too excited to eat). The buffet was delicious and the "hot" food was piping hot straight from the kitchen. Very relaxed atmosphere, I felt as if it was my own home. The bedrooms are beautiful, with a bath so deep I could swim in it. Only comment on bedrooms, is the drawers are too shallow to put much in.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front have a lovely view but can be noisy, due to road noise.

We chose The Kings due to it's location - central to Bournemouth and to the New Forest. We were looking for venues for a summer event and thought it would make an ideal base after a busy day out. However this hotel was so lovely we couldn't wait to get back and after looking at many other hotels in the area we can confidently say this is one of the best there is.

The staff simply couldn't be more helpful. The team work very well together - this shows in the level of service given, making it seem effortless. And we can't recommend the bar for its cocktails highly enough! With a knowledgeable young bartender, many of us were kept up well past our bedtimes trying just one more of his recommended mixes. The bar has a great ambience and is worth a visit even if you aren't staying.

The rooms had every convenience you should want, were decorated to a high standard and the entire hotel was spotless.

The hotel is perfectly situated and the only slight downside would have been the parking which can be limited, except that the staff were on top of this the whole time so it didn't cause any worry.

It was nice to have the option to use the sister hotel spa which is a short drive away. We didn't have time to enjoy this but did stop for a look on our way home on the Sunday - it looked gorgeous, if a little busy.

On booking we thought the hotel was a little pricey (we booked deciding we would pay a little more than the alternatives as a treat) but after seeing what other hotels offer this is one of the best value hotels we have stayed in.

We can't recommend it highly enough and cannot wait to go back!

Restaurant was a bit disorganised, e.g. I asked for chicken liver pâté and was given ham hock terrine and told it was rustic pate! However, the food was good, staff very professional and room was a dream. Would go back.

We had our wedding at The Kings Hotel last September and it was perfect from start to finish. All the staff were friendly, helpful and organised, which really helped to put my mind at ease. The rooms were decorated beautifully and each part of the day went smoothly. All my guests (Both adults and children) were well looked after and made to feel relaxed.

The Kings Hotel really is an ideal wedding venue. The Georgian building is impressive and has real charm and character, the interior is modern, classy and exudes luxury boutique, the food is contemporary and of a very high quality and there is a warm ambience.

There are lots of photo opportunities, both inside and outside the hotel, such as against the backdrop of stunning heritage grounds, The Kings Arms Bowling Green, the various Christchurch ruins and the river bank.

I simply can't recommend this venue enough!

We stayed on a valentines break - 2 nights, bed, breakfast, 3 course meal Fri, lunch at the Jetty - amazing (separate review) on Sat, 4 course Valentines meal on Sat and frankly we have never been so happy. Beautiful room, such friendly service, amazing food and use of the Spa at their sister hotel (another review). This hotel is a gem.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor - perfect, and just right for a couple to cosy on up in bed to. Superb com...

We decided to have a night away and decided on the Kings Hotel, we didn't want to travel far so a half hour journey was just right.

The hotel is in a very central location. The rooms and public areas are contemporary in design and impeccable. The whole place was spotless. The bedroom and bathroom were fab. The staff we met were professional and polite.

The bar area is great with a really knowledgeable cocktail barman. He was very welcoming and his knowledge just made us want to try more cocktails, which we did!!

Our minor gripe - We had booked our table in the restaurant for 7.45 but after an hour we still had not been told our table is ready. We asked on a number of occasions about the delay, but it was only when we sat down at our table at 8.45pm that we found out that there was a problem in the kicthen with one of the ovens, which we understand, just cannot be helped. If at 7.45 we were told of the problem we would have just said "no problem" and carry on enjoying the cockails and also if we knew the length of delay we could have decided to go elsewhere, which most likely we wouldn't have done anyway. Problems can't be helped but its how they are handled that makes a difference. It was worth the wait for the food, it was delicious. We both had the pea and pancetta risotto...........divine!! I then went for the sea bream and hubby went for the rib-eye steak, again really full of flavour.

There was a good selection at breakfast, my last little gripe was at breakfast we had to ask for the menu to see what was on offer, again a minor thing.

I would have given the Kings a 5/5, but it was just a few little things that let it down. It won't stop us going again and already I'm thinking of the Kings to celebrate my next big birthday with family and friends/

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel, lovely views.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your recent stay at The Kings Hotel in Christchurch. I am very sorry about the delay between your pre-order drinks and the start of your dinner. This has certainly helped me to discuss your valuable feedback with my team and I know that in future a similar situation will be handled in a more positive and appropriate manner. I appreciate your praise regarding in particular our cocktail barman and the Hotel overall. I look forward to welcoming your back very soon.

Yours Sincerely
