Centrally located in Christchurch, we had a fabulous room at the front with a view of The Priory. We were initially worried about noise from the road, but there was very little noise at night. if you are worried, you can ask for a room at the rear, overlooking a pleasant courtyard. Breakfast was that rarity today, I.e freshly cooked to order! All the staff we met were very helpful and friendly. We also had a light lunch in the bar, which was excellent. The public rooms and the bedrooms are all very pleasantly decorated, with intersting artworks throughout the hotel. We shall return.

We have just returned from a one night stay at the Kings Arms to celebrate my father's 80th Birthday and I have to say that the warm welcome extended from all members of staff, particularly those in the restaurant really made it a very special occasion. As there were 10 of us we sampled three types of room - the Loft, Queen and King - and we were impressed with all of them. My Dad and Mum had the King's room which felt palatial and as this was a surprise treat for him - the space, comfort and views over the Priory added to the occasion. We dined in the restaurant and all agreed that the 15-mile menu was excellent value for money and really tasty. My only slight criticism (and I hasten to say very slight) is that for a hotel of this standard - renowned for its food, I was surprised that at breakfast there wasn't more selection of fresh fruit, bread and pastries.... but this wouldn't stop me returning or recommending it. Look out for the offers they are well worth it!

Room Tip: We had a Queen Room looking out on the courtyard - it was very cosy, clean, quiet and had every amen...

Our positive dining experience from the "15 Mile Menu" at the King Arms Hotel Restaurant will be remembered for its wonderful, friendly service and excellent, well presented food. As the menu changes, it may be worth checking the menu of the day when you book a table. Alex Aitken's Braised Rib of Beef in Red Wine Sauce was the most tender, delicious slow-cooked beef I have ever tasted!

Portions for dinner were adequate, not over-generous. Vegetables are seasonal and beautifully prepared. We left feeling comfortable and content, without feelings of guilt due to over indulgence.

My next visit will be to sample the 2-course lunch (weekdays) from a similar menu which includes a drink - all for £10.

We were fortunate to have a birds-eye view of the (Thursday) Supper Club monthly event - a novel monthly event for those interested in culinary arts. I thought this would be a great idea as a birthday gift for someone special. I am told that at £25 pp, it includes a 3 course meal, wine with each course & a cooking demonstration.

In the evening its best to park after 19h00 to avoid parking charges at one of the many nearby car parks in the area.

We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this hotel. We normally have a king room but this time we had a queen room. This was still a very nice room just a little smaller and the bed was a little softer. Would probably go back to the king room next time just for a firmer bed. Only a couple of niggles , I had to wash up the cups and get the teapot changed in our room as they were dirty. Unfortunately we had a couple of niggles in the restaurant, on our second night it was their josper grill night and my husband being a head chef himself said we should order steak as they were meant to be so much nicer cooked this way. Unfortunately this wasn't the case. We had to send them back on two occasions as they had over cooked them. This was the only downside to our stay. But I have to say the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful . Especially Carlos the restaurant manager who dealt with our problem very well. Very professional and very helpful and friendly. We will look forward to seeing him again when we return later in the year.

Room Tip: If you like a firmer bed king room 106 is probably better. Courtyard rooms are quieter , road side c...

Stayed at this very comfortable hotel for one night. The staff were very obliging, the room was compact but very nicely appointed with a luxurious bathroom. "Gin o'clock" between 5 and 7pm was great with well prepared and interesting cocktails for £5 served by a very friendly and efficient barman. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel as we were attending a party elsewhere but the menu looked to be interesting and reasonably priced. Two very minor negatives- our room had a (locked ) interconnecting door through which it was possible to overhear clearly the conversaion of the occupants of the other room and which programme they were viewing on tv. We felt we had to talk very quietly when we returned to our room at night for fear of disturbing them. Secondly, our party was last down for breakfast though it was only 9am and although the waiter was attentive, he seemed anxious to get the tables prepared for lunch later in the day. Our cooked breakfasts were a little on the cold side. Despite this, I would definitely stay here again and would like to try the restaurant.

Room Tip: No external noise could be heard from the room at the rear of the hotel
