This is not my first review of this restaurant, however we went again with friends on Saturday night and truly deserves another mention. It was a very busy night but did not detract from the service, friendly & welcoming staff and most importantly the quality of the food. This is the sister restaurant to The Jetty (another must go to place) , the restaurant ambience is wonderful, even though it was busy the tables are not close to each other so doesn't feel crowded. The menu has locally sourced products, cooked and presented to perfection. I had the mushroom risotto which I usually only have at Le Manoir but this certainly was as good as Raymond Blanc (sorry RB) the others had the twice baked cheeses soufflé which is to die for ( and one of the signature dishes). Mains we had the pork belly (yum) and the plaice( very nice) the deserts are wonderful ( although I didn't have as too full) we ordered a portion of side veg but wasn't really needed as there was enough on our plates. The bill for 4 which included mid range priced 2 bottles of wine, glasses of champagne, bottled water and coffees came to £205, which I think is very reasonably priced. We had our table for the whole evening and did not feel rushed or pressured to leave. I believe Bournemouth town needs to get its act together as there is not one decent restaurant there (unless you want fast food/restaurant chain/or just plain and simple expensive poor quality food)so for anyone visiting from out of the area then look at Christchurch for excellent restaurants - you will not be disappointed with The Kings Arms. Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need any further information

Stayed here on our wedding night (and I stayed here the night before also) as we got married at Christchurch Priory and then onto Highcliffe Castle and it's soooooo lovely :) I got ready in the room before I went to the church and it was a dream, the room (I had one of the biggest one's on the front - Platinum) fit so many people in, all bridesmaids, hair, make up, mum etc and we all got ready in there no problems at all :) The staff are excellent and the dinner and breakfast was so lovely :)

Couldn't rate this place highly enough. All of our family stayed here for two nights so we pretty much booked out the entire hotel (I think it was around 15-20 rooms) and they all spoke incredibly highly of it too

Room Tip: Platinum rooms are absolutely beautiful as they overlook the old castle, however the gold rooms are...

Just returned from spending a lovely but wet weekend in Christchurch. The menu's at the Kings and Jetty looked so mouth watering and varied we decided to book the food lovers package which included a bottle of fizz on arrival and nibbles. These were most welcome after our drive!

We felt the package was very reasonable and would defiantly consider this again.

The hotel is very well presented with some lovely features. The bar is a great place to meet and enjoy a drink or two. Our room was lovely (loft room) at the front and we found there was very little noise from the road..Nothing that kept us awake anyway.

Full English breakfast is very hearty and lots of choice - will set you up for the day.

All staff were very friendly and stopped for chats whilst carrying out their duties, nothing appeared to be too much trouble.

Would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone considering staying in the area.

Having stayed here previously and had a fantastic experience I had no reason to hesitate to book a return visit. We booked a silver double room on the 2nd floor, great offer £95 including a bottle of fizz and breakfast.
Prior to arrival I mailed the hotel to request the same room as our first visit and they happily did this for us. Upon arrival there were no car parking spaces at the back of the hotel and the lady at reception found us a space no problem.
The welcome from the staff and the room was great, bubbles were chilling in the room ready for our arrival. I ran a bath and noticed that it had not been cleaned, called down to reception and the lady was very very apologetic and was up within 3 minutes with a cleaning kit and two glasses of fizz. She spent 10 minutes cleaning the bath and again apologised the whole time. This was obviously an oversight by the cleaning staff as the rest of the room was spotless.
We’d booked a table in the restaurant so went for pre-dinner cocktails in the bar, unfortunately this wasn’t the best experience. After 15 minutes we chased up our order to find the barman had forgotten us, another 15 minutes later we had our drinks and they were very nice. I mentioned this experience to the restaurant manager who at the end of our meal persuaded us to have a complimentary drink. Unfortunately this also went horribly wrong, the barman made two yellow drinks that didn’t even look like mojitos. He attempted to correct his error with a sprig of mint and some ice, by then we gave up and went out to watch a band at The Thomas Trip pub. Again the restaurant manager was very apologetic, I actually felt a bit sorry for him.
We had a great night sleep in their amazing beds with at least 10cm down mattress topper followed by a wonderful breakfast.
Despite the bath and the cocktail issue we have a great stay, just disappointed as our expectations were high based on our last visit. The hotel staff were amazing and on this occasion were let down by the cleaning and bar staff. We were not charged for the cocktails and were also given a discount off our room rate at checkout.
Would it this experience prevent another visit? Probably not.
