Great Rooms, Staff and Food. A hidden Dorset gem. Very conveniently positioned with car parking available. Plenty of choice of quaint food and drink venues in Chrischurch but Hotel food offered (various menu's) is first class.

A wonderful experience.

Room Tip: Bronze, Silver, Gold. All excellent.

This may be a small hotel but what it lacks in size it makes up for in quality in every department. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Stayed here number of times, never disappointed. Christchurch is well placed for visiting the New Forest or Studland. For those who like to leave car in the car park there are great walks along the coast via the ferry to Mudeford Beach and Hengisbury Head. Parking is very limited and you'll need to leave your keys in reception so they can shuffle cars around as clients come and go. The restaurant is popular with local and guests alike, as is the bar. There are nearby restaurants and pubs but not that many considering the popularity of Christchurch. The George public house is close by and good for a real ale or two before dinner. A visit to the Kings sister hotel the Christchurch Harbour Hotel in Sandpit, where can use their spa or just sit on the decking over looking the harbour with a coffee is worth a trip.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear are quieter, although rooms on front are on a relatively busy road the view over b...

We visited on a half board short break of 3 nights. The queen room at the rear of the second floor was exceptionally good with the deepest Villeroy and Boch bath I have ever seen. Parking in the courtyard at the rear was always available. The staff were examplary at all times. Breakfast was possibly the best we have had. Half board includes a 3 course meal from their 15 mile menu which is every bit as good as the a la carte menu but can be exchanged for the a la carte at extra cost if nothing takes your fancy. There are plenty of eating places nearby if half board is not to your liking. We would definitely return here. We were offered the use of the spa facilities at the sister hotel at Mudeford nearby but did not have the time to try them out.

We booked on a whim, for a last minute getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary and birthday, I only mentioned on booking our reasons for staying and were delighted to find a hand written card waiting in our room wishing us a lovely stay and anniversary etc.

Upon dinning in the restaurant, once again we were wished a happy anniversary and presented with a glass of prosecco.

It is this attention to detail, and the personable staff that make this hotel an absolute gem.

We will definitely be returning

We visited the Kings Arms for Sunday Lunch and have nothing but praise for the food and service. For our starters we had the smoked fish salad and hock salad which were very good. For our main courses my wife had roast beef and Yorkshire pudding while I had roast pork with crackling. Our dinners were served with roast potatoes and vegetables. You can pay extra for additional items such as cauliflower cheese. I would have liked to try this but thought I would probably have enough with the regular vegetables and in any case wanted to have room for dessert. Everything we had was nicely cooked and we were particularly pleased that nether the beef or vegetables were overdone. For dessert I had the upside down chocolate brownie cheesecake which was really light, delicious and went down very easily. To accompany our meals we had a house red wine which although not cheap was in terms of price about par for the course for this standard of restaurant and was really very good. The staff were efficient, helpful and friendly. To sum up, we really enjoyed our visit to the Kings Arms and would like to return, maybe to stay there next time.
