Have to say I have spent a great deal of time eating out. This restaurant is one of the best I have experienced. Staff excellent and attentive. Decor relaxing and the ambience just right. Menu and food outstanding. Prices competitive. Highly recommend this if you are ever in Dorset . Regional manager healthcare.

The hotel is located on a busy main road, there is off road car parking, however, this does get extremely busy when the restaurant is open lunch times and evenings. Stayed two nights in The Garden Suite. A very spacious suite which is nicely decorated and furnished and has its own private garden which suffers from road noise. The lounge area of the suite had a badly soiled rug and the general cleanliness was poor. The cleaner left their half empty drink in the lounge!
The suite had gadgets such as Bose which by a member of staffs own admission was complicated to set up and we gave up trying to get sound to the TV in the bathroom.
Breakfasts were spot on, excellent surroundings, food and service.
A nice place, but could be better. A little over priced.

Room Tip: The Garden Suite was extremely spacious with its own outdoor space.

Booked The Garden Suite as a last holiday before haveing a baby 6 weeks later. Own suite with a garden, huge jacuzzi spa bath and lounge.
Had dinner with jazz one evening- very reasonable and excellent food. The restaurant was buzzing and full. Next evening got fish and chips and ate them on the beach.
Breakfast was in the conservatory - nice choices especially fresh fruit salad but croissants were a bit stale.
Not much other seating apart from restaurant and conservatory. Very small lounge near reception.
I think we were the youngest visitors at the time- seems to attract people in their 50's and older.
Hotel pictures are also deceptive as hotel is on a main road. However road noise didn't actually bother us.
Visit nearby Lymington and Beualieu Motor Museum.

Took advantage of 3 nights for the price of 2 offer on-line and booked The Boardroom. Lovely big room in a separate building where we able to park directly outside. Everything spotless, and an extremely comfy large bed. Staff all very friendly and helpful, tips given for local walks and places of interest. Restaurant shut on Monday but can recommend the pub food next door. However... for something special the Lord Bute dining room is a must! .. the food is well presented and very tasty (Try the Panna Cotta dessert if you can it was heavenly!!). We received a call on our return letting me know that I had left my Kindle reader in the room - this arrived safely back home the next day posted by special delivery - thank you all for a lovely break and great 'after sales' service!

This was our fourth visit to The Lord Bute, but this time we bought my Mother and Father-in-law knowing that they would love the jazz night which they thought was fantastic. As with our previous visits for the last four years we couldn't fault anything, the food was very good, rooms very comfortable(we always book one of the large en-suites at the rear of the hotel), the staff are always very friendly and helpful and very importantly they are the same staff since our first visit which in our opinion is very good. We really do enjoy staying at the Lord Bute and can't wait until our next visit.

Room Tip: The rooms at the rear of the hotel are quieter.

Me and my husband chose this hotel as the venue for our wedding reception and we were not disappointed! We occupied all of the rooms on the night of our wedding and all of our guests were amazed at the quality of accomodation for the price they had paid. We opted for the Garden Suite and WOW is the only word to describe it! The staff are all so attentive and helpful and really took any stress that we had away. The food is deserving of its rosettes...amazingly you get 4 choices for each course to be chosen on the day of the wedding which after looking round plenty of wedding venues is unheard of! All of the food was piping hot and well presented and the yorkshire puddings with the roast beef were huge! After reading a couple of negative reviews I felt compelled to write this review to say what an amazing hotel this is..all couples think their wedding day is amazing but ours truely was and The Lord Bute comes highly recommended.

Stayed in the 'boardroom’ with my wife and two large dogs who are very welcome here in this room which is very large and comfortable. The three main things I look for Cleanliness, a great bed/linen and a welcome all were in abundance.
This hotel is probably an adjunct more to the restaurant who do a surprisingly good and fixed price Al a carte meal with good choice and above all to a good standard. Meals are not ‘Michelin’ but are well judged, seasonal and well presented more homely fare and from obviously quality ingredients. The Saturday night pianist was actually good and an addition I am not prone to say that.
To sum up a great bolt hole especially if you want to have a doggy weekend with a nice dinner– Super miles long beach to enjoy just around the corner.
With a nights’ accommodation in a big room, 3 course dinner £40 bottle of wine, other drinks and a four course Sunday lunch with drinks all for two the bill came to £253.00 inc VAT - I give this hotel baring in mind the cost ten out of ten.
