My wife and I have stayed and dined at the Lord Bute on several occasions and have always been made to feel welcome. The hotel is stylishly decorated throughout and the room rates represent very good value. The restaurant provides consistently good food and friendly service. The location is ideal for exploring the New Forest and the coast. We've recommended the Lord Bute to friends who have been equally impressed.

This has got to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and there's been quite a few. The staff are fantastic, the place is exceptional. Attention to detail second to none, exceptionally clean, tidy, stylish and absolutely stunning bedrooms. Food in the restaurant is fab, can't fault it. We did a two nights for the price of one and would go again tomorrow. Breakfast was fantastic didn't eat again until the evening. Right next to Highcliffe Castle, 5 mins from Hengisbury Head and 15/20 mins to Bournemouth.

My grandmother had booked the restuarant for after my grandfathers funeral, she had asked for a finger buffet...thinking she would be getting good high quality food (hense why she chose the lord bute) and especially for the price they had charged her!
Friends and family were left waiting for nearly an hour before any food turned up...people where left with no drinks as the waitresses only went round once topping up people's glasses, Tea & coffee were not provided...the worst of all though was the food-Absolutely Shocking...3 for £5 party food in sainsburys would of made a better spread.
Disgraceful service and food...the resturant manager should be ashamed!

booked in for 1 night bed & breakfast. As a regular visitor to the Christchurch area due to family, Ifound this hotel to be friendly, clean & decent value for money compared to some of the other hotels I have stayed in. Only sampled the breakfast on the food side but this was excellent. Will certainly return

Spent 3 nights here with my wife on an Autumn break. Situated within easy reach of Lymington (Ferries to IOW), Bournemouth and the New forest, this historic house has been converted into a a small, friendly but highly efficient hotel. Dined in the elegant restaurant on two nights. On both occassions the high quality of the cuisine had attracted many non-resident diners. The Wednesday night was particularly lively with entertainment provided by a local jazz-band. The dining facilities were not available on Mondays at this time of year, but there is a moderate quality gastro-pub next door. My only complaint was that the jacuzzi bath was not working and although this was reported to the staff, nothing more was done or said about the matter. Apart from this, the rooms are tastefully designed and furnished to a high standard.
I would reccomend this hotel to those looking for stress-free short break.

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at this very pleasent hotel. I have no complaints about anything to do with the hotel itself. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We stayed in one of the large double rooms which was very nicely decorated and exceptionally clean, the bathroom was a nice size and again very clean. We ate in the restaurant both nights and on both occasions the food was excellent and good value.
The only issue with the hotel is it's location on a busy road, it is very noisy. If I were to stay there again I would ask for a room at the back of the hotel.
Apart from that I would recommend this hotel to anybody looking for a clean and friendly place to stay.

Stayed on their '3 nights for 2' deal whch requires you to have a meal in the restraunt on one evening. That worked out great as we booked in for the Jazz Evening. The combo were called Lemongrove. Very professional and the meal at £24 excellent value.

The larger rooms ( a bit more cash) well worth it.
Pub /restraunt next door excellent (if a bit pricey) and a local pub 500yards away bargain meals and value drinks.
Visit the castle next door and have a walk to Mudiford.
Breakfast - well I've travelled round a bit and take it from me if you've had better than this you could be called Beckham.
All in all a great experience. I somtimes say to our lass, 'lets go back there' and rarely do . Wev wil be going back next year and will make sure it includes a Jazz Evening.
