We were very impressed by the service, food and atmosphere . We were helped by friendly and knowledgeable staff and left full, satisfied and with a wish to return if we were in the area.

The only odd thing to us was the name and appearance from the outside of the premises which looked more like a standard English pub, which it certainly was not.

Can't speak highly enough of this place. Service is excellent with very attentive staff and also very efficient and polite - simply 1st class. Food is wonderful - 4 of us had tempura prawns and fish cakes to start which were perfectly cooked with 2 very tasty dips chilli & teriyaki, delicious. Three of us had the sizzling chicken for mains, again very good and portions just right as well, you often don't get enough chicken in theses meals as they are 'padded' out with veg but not here! My mate had the beef chilli again just excellent. The only criticism is that the noodles had become cold half way through the meal but we were outside so can't really complain although a heat tray may have been an idea. Great place to visit with friends as after you've eaten you can sit in the comfy outdoor furniture and chill with a drink. Looking forward to our next visit next week!!!

On a hot summer's evening, we had a meal in the garden. The garden tables were in demand but the observant server noticed that some diners were leaving and showed us to the table.

The food is good but not exceptional, the mixed platter of starters is very good indeed. What sets this place apart is the service, the staff are young an enthusiastic. The Manager / Owner remembered my name even though I rarely dine there.

A good team and a pleasant venue. The interior is tastefully decorated and lends itself to cosy dining with good table arrangements.

The very best lime soda ever! Plenty of lime and not weak and wishy washy....they know how to serve their drinks here!

We have just been back to Rising Sun.

If you want really nice Thai food, in a lovely setting, try here.

Great outside space, perfect for pre-dinner drinks in the sun, and can highly recommend the Sjngapore noodles, and Green Curry (very spicy).

And good prices for quality of food.

Will be back again.

All the staff are VERY friendly!!!!

I have visited the Rising Sun every summer for several years but there is a noticeable difference this year. Previously I would have rated this pub grub "Good" but this year I found it faultless. Service was provided by very personable, attentive young servers. The food was well presented, of generous proportion and good quality. Try as I might I can find no reason not to revisit. One note of caution is that it is heavily frequented by residents, especially at the end of the working day and a reservation is recommended for an early evening dinner.
